They are excellent and use top of the line products. They even ran ductwork for me where I need it and added additional vents. They are very responsive, professional, and very gracious when in my home. I would highly recommend them as well.

They were the people who installed my furnace. I would think, as a previous customer, I would have had some kind of break on the pricing. They were like, "You already had it serviced by some other company and they didn't replace the filter. We'll replace the filter but we're going to charge you full price." If I had gotten the filter from them, it would have cost double what I paid for it. I didn't like the receptionist. She had a bad attitude. She acts like you're bothering her when you call. I said, "You have installed my furnace five or six years ago." She told me, "No. We do not see you in the system." I said, "Excuse me. I'm looking at the receipt." Then, she called me back and said, "I'm sorry. I forgot. We switched to a new system and we hadn't entered the older accounts into our new system. But I found you. You're right." Because I was onsite when they did the furnace installation, I was quite impressed. I think their people are knowledgeable. Their technicians are polite, courteous and knowledgeable. They even educate you.

My 27 year old AC died on Memorial Day weekend.  It was a good run, but time for a new system (including a new furnace).  A couple of friends had highly recommended ACS.  Joe Pinson came for the estimate and spent by far the most time discussing my options and expectations for the new system. He asked a ton of questions to determine what my needs were.  I got two other quotes from big Atlanta companies.  Both spent less than 15 minutes at my house and both offered the same thing:  the cheapest system they had that was the same size as my old system.  Living in a top floor condo (heat rises!!) I really felt I needed a bit more.  At least give me more than one option, but nope. No one (besides ACS)  discussed efficiency or how my old unit had been doing (it struggled).  I was interested in the highest efficiency model I could afford - I think it's a good idea for the long haul.  The lowest bid from ACS was on par with the other companies (for a larger unit).  I opted for a more efficient model - which was a little more.   This is a serious investment and ACS took me and my needs seriously.  Installation was quick and professional (Thanks guys!) and I couldn't be happier.

The salesman sat down for over an hour with me, giving me a lot of information about HVAC systems and the options available, plus he identified a number of things specific to my house. The salesman has decades of experience (I got 3 estimates from reputable companies and honestly all 3 sales guys had tons of experience and really knew what they were doing, gave great presentations, and were all competitive on price) and generated 4 estimates for 4 different systems at different price points (some of the others only quoted higher end variable speed systems for a couple of thousand more; tempting, but I decided to keep things simple). I asked for whatever discount they could give me and they did take some off the price.
The system they ended up installing qualifies for $450 in federal tax credits, and, combined with some other improvements being made at the same time, also qualified me for over $2000 in rebates from Georgia Power (not even getting a heat pump). They also replaced all of the leaky existing ductwork with new insulated flex ductwork and replaced the vent covers inside the house. It was 3 days of work in a pretty low crawlspace, which was longer than they expected but they said they wanted to get everything right. The installation is key to the system working properly and the guys doing the installation seemed to really know what they were doing, had a lot of experience, and did a great job. I said I wanted it to be as easy as possible to replace the filter and they made some modifications that made that simpler to do. I told them I was trying to get the federal energy tax credits and they were able to tweak some components of the system to get it to qualify, even though originally they said it would not qualify.
The vent covers aren't that impressive, but they said they don't usually do that kind of work and that was a small part of the overall project. I am docking them just a little on responsiveness because it did take a little while for them to answer emails and get back to me on some things, but they addressed all of my concerns. The system has been in place for a month and the air conditioning works great. I haven't had a chance to test the furnace yet.

Relocating my furnace was just the latest work they have done for me.I have been using ACS Heating and Air since the early 1990’s for all my cooling and heating needs. During this period I have purchased two complete Lennox systems from them and had them do my twice yearly service inspections. Their work has always been thorough and completed according to schedule. I highly recommend them for any heating and cooling needs you might have.

I have used them for a few years now and I have had a good experience with everything about them.  They come on time and do what they say they would do.  They warranty their work and since they are a smaller company I can call and talk to a live person who would talk and explain things to me.  It is nice that they have somebody I can talk to as opposed to most companies where I have to follow instructions on the phone.  I have also used them for some very expensive work such as putting in my heating and air unit and have been pleased with it.  Their pricing is competitive with others.

I had used another company for years to do the seasonal maintenance of my heating and air systems, but had grown dissatisfied wtih them.  I called ACS because I had a previous experience with them a couple of years ago and was very satisfied.  They came out the day after I called and the technician spent at least 2 hours going over the two systems we had.  We were very pleased with everything.

He came the same day we called and on time. After another person came out and told us we needed a new unit, he found a very simple problem and fixed it. Saved us a lot of money at the time. We also decided to purchase a service agreement with them.

I called ACS because my system was blowing warm air and I wanted to get it checked out. The service person was late but did call several times before arriving. After checking the system and finding out it had no freon left and giving me several options, one replacing the Evaporator (most likley leak) or charging the system with R22 at a cost $46.00 for the first lb. and $35.00 for each additional lb. I felt it was a high price but the service person gave me a sob story about the price of freon so I figured since that they had good scores on Angies list that it would be a fair price. It took 6lbs. and only after fully charging it did he check if their were any leaks. He found the leak in the Evaporator and recommended replacment. Several hrs later I had a meeting with the sales person and received several quotes, all high but not unreasonable. After he left I decided to check on line about the cost of freon. To my suprise Granger has it listed for $249.00 for a 30 lb. cylinder. Granted they need to make a profit but give me a break! After playing phone tag for three days I finaly got to talk with a supervisor named Rick who after a short conversation lowered the bill $46.00.
Response from ACS HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING INC
"We apologize for your experience and appreciate you sharing your thoughts. We have built a reputation of customer satisfaction, quality work, and fair pricing. We do not claim to be the cheapest HVAC company, but we do attempt to be one of the best, and with fair pricing. Your feedback has allowed to examine areas we could improve, which we are continuously seeking to do. Again, thank you."

The quality of work they did was good. The representative who I dealt with was very responsive. It was a 3 days job. The first day I came home it appeared to me that the installation was complete. Since I did not have instructions given, I could not turn it on. I did not have information for the new thermostat either. I called the rep I was dealing with, and he was surprised that the installers did not leave a note whether they will coming back or anything. He called the installers and then called me back and asked me not to touch the heater as it was not completed. After it was installed there were problems for a couple of days, and I did not have hot water. They kept coming back and checking. The first day it was so loud that it woke me up early morning and it scared me as well. I called the rep the same day and he sent people who found that there was some minor problem with its technicalities. They were knowledgeable and knew what they are doing. They are responsive. I am actually disappointed with the furnace. However, I will continue using them in the future.

ACS Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. and their employees are always on time. They also always seem very knowledgeable of the systems and how to fix them. They are always able to answer my questions and help me to do self maintenance. They are always responsive and there is seemingly always someone at the office to help. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience with them over the many years I have gone to them.

I called ACS and they gave me their head guy's, Ward Rutland's, direct cell phone number rather than taking a message and having someone call me back. Ward game over the next day to look at the scope of work that I wanted done. I was very sure that I wanted the carrier infinity system so he didn't spend alot of time talking me out it to sell me something he had in stock that he wanted to get rid of, which most of these HVAC companies will do. Dave the head installer started work the following Monday, Ward stopped by to go over everything with Dave, which I liked, because there were less errors to be made this way with direct contact at the job. Ward checked in with me a few times to make sure everything was going o.k. which it was. I asked a lot of questions and the installers never made me feel stupid for asking. They were very professional and I think the world of this company. This is the only company I will use in Atlanta. If you want work done right the first time, use these guys. They know what they are doing.

ACS tech Ricky did a good job diagnosing our mysterious AC problem. But it was late in the day and he couldn't finish the job. Unfortunately, while he was working on the AC unit, Ricky accidentally dislodged part of my home alarm system, and triggered the security alarm. Oops. No harm done really. But that did force me to call my alarm company to come and check the alarm system. More scheduling hassles -- to coordinate with THAT service provider. At the end of his visit, Ricky said ACS would be calling me to schedule a return visit to finish the work. But that call never came. Eventually, I had a technician who was not with ACS finish the part of the job that Ricky had diagnosed, which was under the warranty for the new AC unit. About a week later, I called ACS to schedule a tune up of my AC system, because I have a yearlong maintenance contract with them. The manager of the ACS technicians, Orlando, took my call himself. He was really, really patient with me and spent a good bit of time listening to my story and my terrible explanation about what tasks still needed to be performed on the AC. Orlando personally scheduled an appointment for Ricky to come and finish the rest of the job. Ricky arrived on time and he tried to fix the problem, but it required more work than I was willing to authorize at that time. He did perform a maintenance tune up of the HVAC system -- cleaning it vacuuming and checking it. Ricky then offered me a great "workaround" alternative to fixing the unsolved problem -- which I plan to use when I do decide to finally authorize the maintenance.

There was some confusion on the day of installation since they had an old phone number for me and had expected me to confirm the day of installation, but they were able to still come out the day we had agreed to, so I appreciated their quick action and flexibility. Workmen showed up on time and were thorough in their work and were patient in answering my questions. They also replaced an old mercury thermostat and did a thorough walk through with me when the work was complete. It's great to have a working furnace again!
