I went to Turners which is a local business and purchased a new bedroom suite and received a price on a kitchen table and chairs. After looking at several other stores, I returned to purchase the kitchen table but the sales person was not there. I was then told the written price was incorrect, that the price would be $76.00 higher. I then spoke with the manager (Rick) who attempted to explain and eventually said, "Let's split it". I explained to Rick that I was purchasing over $4700 worth of furniture and I wasn't spliting anything and he could keep the furniture and I would go somewhere else with my business. The furniture was then sold for the written price. Delivery was then arranged and on Friday when the furniture was delivered only the kitchen table and chairs were delivered. I ask the delivery personnel the whereabouts of my bedroom furniture to which they had no reply. Again, I called Rick who initially was unable to locate any paperwork on the bedroom at which time I provided him with the sales order number. Rick apologized and then scheduled delivery for the bedroom furniture the following Tuesday. As a result of the kitchen table being rather large it had to be taken apart to get through the front door. Since there was work being done in the kitchen, the table and chairs were placed into the bedroom. On Tuesday morning prior to delivery of the bedroom with the work being completed in the kitchen, I went to put the table and chairs up only to find the table top was coming apart on the bottom of the table. Again, I called Rick. When the delivery personnel showed up with the bedroom furniture they placed it into the bedroom at which time they realized they didn't have the necessary hardware to attach the mirror to the dresser. Then, when they placed the mattress onto the bed, there was a large dirty smudge mark on one corner of the mattress where it had been pulled across the floor prior to delivery. It was explained to me that they would attempt to clean it. I explained that no it wouldn't be cleaned that a new mattress would need to be brought out. The delivery personnel then called the store to explain. I asked when I could expect the items to be returned and was told I would be contacted by the store personnel. When contacted by the store personnel in a follow up phone call, they were unaware of the missing hardware or the mattress and then explained the only table they had was a floor model or else I could wait for one to be shipped from the manufacture, but it would take at least 3 days for them to be able to provide me with a delivery date. So much for trying to utilize a local business.
Description of Work: I purchased a kitchen table and chairs and a bedroom suite which was then delivered.
