"Great communication; On time, in fact called and asked if they could come early. Inspected and cleaned both chimneys, one with an insert that required removing to get all the soot removed. The son father work team were extremely good folks and I will not hesitate to call them next time our chimneys need service. Thanks guys!!!!!"

"Hunter was very knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all professional. He worked with me to get my appointment scheduled although his schedule was booked. He continued to communicate with me about the possible issues/causes of my chimney problem so that he would be prepared with the right equipment and parts on arrival. He arrived when he said he would and completed the job to my satisfaction. He went above and beyond what I expected. I would definitely use him again for any chimney issues I have. I will also recommend him to my neighbors who may also have issues with their chimneys. I was impressed with his workmanship."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Yes, many HVAC professionals offer emergency repair services for furnaces and other heating systems. These services are especially common during the winter and colder seasons when functional heating is crucial.

The first step is removing water or chemical residue, if applicable, after extinguishing. Next, your professional will clean up soot, remove damaged materials, treat the smoke damage, and complete any necessary structural repairs. After that, your pro will begin the build-back process and install finishes to restore your home to its previous condition.

Challenges include ensuring structural safety, completing soot removal, meeting restoration codes, and effectively managing insurance claims.

Homeowners insurance does not cover DIY mistakes, so tread lightly if you plan to tackle your own home repairs or renovations. If you cause damage to your home while attempting repairs or renovations yourself, the cost of fixing the damage is often considered your responsibility. Most policies only cover damage caused by covered perils like fire, theft, or weather—not by homeowner errors.

In many cases, professionals can completely remove certain types of smoke damage from walls and ceilings, but it’s only possible if the damage is minor. For more extensive damage from major fires, you’ll likely need to replace the damaged materials entirely. Some items, like upholstered furniture, are much trickier to clean and might need to be replaced even if the smoke damage is minimal.
