The day after the Christmas holiday, our appointment was promptly scheduled. Everyone, with whom, we had contact, was courteous and professional. Arrival at our home, at the scheduled time, was prompt. A face mask was worn throughout the visits and installation. A thorough assessment of our situation was made and we agreed on next steps (replacement of home furnace). All Major Appliances provided a very competitive price (the best price of all the quotes we received) and a complete quote for the service needed. Thanks to everyone, with whom we came in contact, who did an excellent job representing their company. We have done business with this company numerous times over many years. This is our ‘go to’ company and we highly recommend them. We are always satisfied and often delighted with the service received. We recommend them, without hesitation.

We are installing new range hood insert. My contractor could not get two exhaust levels to work. After several days of frustration he called the Best 1-800 number in the manual. He was referred to this company. He called the week before and an appointment was scheduled for the next Tuesday. No one came nor called. My contractor called and was assured we would be the first call on Wednesday. No one came nor called. My contractor called again and was told the technician would be here no later than 11:00am on Thursday. He did show up. He checked the wiring voltage in the insert and jump box. Both had power. He then took the wiring apart at the insert, rewired it exactly as it was. Still wouldn't work. Then he looked at the installation manual. The manual shows the wiring diagram for two different models, one with three wires the other with four. Both models have a four speed blower. Because my insert has the three wires, the technician determined that the blower with my insert is a two speed not a four, therefore, it only worked on two speeds. He did not check the control board nor the speed switch. He was here 20 minutes at the most and charged $150. I called the vendor who assured me I had the correct blower for my unit. My contractor them called All Appliance back relating what the vendor has said and that for 20 minutes at the most, over charged me for the service call. She didn't believe what my contractor was saying and wanted the name and number of vendor and she would call us back. She didn't mention the excessive charge nor did she call back. My contractor then called the Braun-Nu Tone service center. Once again, the service tech confirmed that we did have the four speed blower and that they don't even sell a two speed blower with any of their units. According to their tech, the problem had to be either in the circuit board or speed switch (the tech from All Appliance didn't check either one). He also agreed that we had been way over charged. Because of all the trouble and cost we had experienced he was sending a new control panel and switch at no charge. My contractor then called All Appliance back. Once she heard the name, she hung up on him. One sorry company with an incompetent technician.
Update:
I didn't expect them to own up. Talk about saving face! But I've learned a valuable lesson. I'll make sure next time the repair service I call has experience in servicing my appliances even to the extent of providing me references.

Response from ALL MAJOR APPLIANCES INC
"We responded to a call on a Best hood being installed by a contractor in a customers home March 21, 2013. The contractor is the only person we had contact with. He made sure we called his cell. We never spoke with the home owner, and she was not present when we were at her home. The contractor was installing a large vent hood with an external blower. He could not get the mid speeds to operate, only 1 & 4. When we arrived we asked for the schematic for this unit. He brought us a installation sheet only. We asked for the one that was for this particular unit. He said that this was all he had. We went into the wall and found the wiring was improper and removed one of the wires the contractor hadinstalled and connected the blower properly. The contractor was saying that that is the way he had it. We showed him that he had it wrong. The paperwork he had showed 2 models. We told him that the board may be a problem but without the schematic for this unit we would have to talk to Broan to be sure. We were there for 55 minutes. The homeowner was not there. The wiring was not under any kind of warranty because it was the contractor installing it. Broan said that technically there was not warranty because the unit was 3 years old. We talked to them and they said they would go ahead and approve sending out the parts. We have been dealing with Broan for more then 4 years and they have always trusted our work. They said they have not discussed any pricing with customers. The lady on the phone was trying to get information to give to Broan. The motor was 1 speed so the 4 speed feature would have to come from the board. The only way to make that absolute diagnosis was with the wiring diagram for the unit. The home owner did not return any calls. We left messages to inform her as to the status of the job. Out of warranty parts for the control and motor were going to be over $400.00. We spoke with Broan and told them the customer had the unit in storage and we assured them it was a new unit. They said they would send out the parts on our recommendation. We have been in the service industry for more then 30 yrs and have an A+ rating with the BBB. Our honesty and integrity are a priority when dealing with our customers. We have thousands of satisfied customers. We take much offense of the alligations of us being anything but truthful and honest. We have never hung up on a customer. It is unfortunate that there are contractors out there that are not qualified to do certain things. They then cost there customers money because they have to have someone else fix their mistakes. This complaint is a case of a contractor trying to save face because of his ignorance in wiring. This contractor told the homeowner whatever he needed to to shift blame on us for his mistake. He even told her he was the one that got Broan to send out the parts. He has misrepresented our company to the homeowner and Angie's List. There was never a request for any money to be refunded from her. We have, as of yet, never even got to speak with the home owner. We will talk to the home owner if she will return our call. We did correct the wiring, which we confirmed with Broan. We did get them to send out expensive parts that were not under warranty, free of charge. We called the contractor to let him know they will be getting the parts and he said he would take care of it from here. As far as we knew all was well with the repair. We were unaware of what the contractor was telling her."

They gave me suggestions on the usage of our microwave. I felt that they could have told me to buy a new one, but instead they were honest with me and replaced only the part that needed to be replaced. I appreciate the honesty of this company.
