Well to start off---- they NEVER answer to the phone after the initial contact to hire.
The company, HOWARD LUMBER, was more communicative about the issues and all they did was drop the lumber off in the yard for the roof work.
So 3 weeks AFTER they said they would start, they showed up at 6am unannounced and started replacing the roof.
I will give them that credit. They did the whole roof on the two story house in about 2-3 weeks. Their clean up job wasn't that great -- i had to get on the roof myself to get the leftover pieces and around the yard in and around the bushes that they left.
Then the worst part ever....... IT STARTED LEAKING!! Literally, my kids had fun collecting the rain in buckets from the leaking roof INSIDE the home.
Then like clockwork, they went back to not answering their main lines.
The only reason that we got them to come back out was that my husband ran into the workers at the gas station and convinced them to come back out before legal action was taken. Then 2 days later, like magic. They showed up.
So then they claimed the leaking was not coming from their work on the roof but rather the chimney..... I may have bought that if i wasnt able to collect buckets of rain water from different parts of the house.. only one was near the chimney location.
To this date ( its now AUGUST) my roof still has tarp on it from where they put it "temporarily" and have yet to come back to finish. I am going with a different company to repair it.
So, my advice??? GO TO A DIFFERENT COMPANY! They have great prices, but horrible communication.

Came the day I called. Said would return the next day but actually came two days later (on a Saturday) and made the repair
Had a major downpour yesterday, Tuesday, and can see no trace of a leak

It was a pleasure to work with Thompson Roofing. They were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves every afternoon. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing new shingles on their roof.
