PRO LUBE

We went in for an oil change and safety check, with a $5 off online coupon. First they said they no longer honored the coupon. I pointed out that the expiration date was two months into the future, so the guys said he would check with his manager, then they said they would honor it. So my wife waited for the oil change and I left.The oil change was performed promptly. They then told her she needed several expensive repairs, including the serpentine belt and hoses, all of which were badly cracked and "could leave you by the side of the road at any time." They also said she needed to change her air filter. When she asked to see it, they showed it to her and she noticed it was white and clean. She said thank you; she would tell her husband what they said, and the guy acted very irritated that she was not agreeing to the extra service. Next we went to our old stand-by auto repair shop of several decades duration, Southside Auto, and had them check all the belts. They said everything was fine. The belts and hoses were not cracked and the air filter was clean. They also said, "Women get this a lot." But that will be the last time we go to Pro-Lube, coupons or not.
