Phillips was one of a few shops recommended to us.  We asked for estimates from Phillips as well as two other shops.  One shop refused to give an estimate without the adjuster's estimate.  My wife was the one to actually take the car to the shops, and she found Phillips to be the most courteous and professional.  Phillips was the lowest of the 3 estimates (including our adjuster's estimate).  They did agree to replace a part that was recommended by our adjuster when we took the car in on New Year's Eve. 
The collision actually occurred on the Sunday night before Christmas.  Due to the holidays, getting the claim going and the adjuster out to look at our car took quite some time.  We worried that the work on our car would take quite some time as well.  Our fears were not realized, however.  They got the parts ordered right away, and the work was complete by the 7th.  Less time to do the work than to get the adjuster to look at it!
The work was done perfectly.  The car is gold, and I hear that the color is hard to match.  They blended it very well, I can't tell what was painted and what wasn't.  Everything seems to be installed well, no new rattles, seams line up, doors and hood close nicely. 
When I was asking around about recommended shops, people would tell me that "You always have to take a car back to a shop after they work on it" for minor adjustments or fixes.  That has been my experience as well in the past.  However, we will not have to go back to Phillips Custom Works unless we have another collision!
