Rip off artist. He marked up my new hot water heater 40% which was $1,200. I understand that there is a mark up on parts and material. 40% is not the norm. Not even close. If you want to OVERpay, this is your guy.

very easy to deal with ,I call them explained my problem .made an appointment for 11:30 they call me at 11:15 to let me know they were on the way guy shows up at 11.30 .and went right to work... very nice people. after they finished they explained what they had done to fix my problem and explained what actions I could take to help keep it from reoccurring.
I was very pleased with the work they did and the fact that there was NO MESS left was a big plus.

The guy was very knowledgeable and quick and extremely helpful. I really liked him. It would probably be the only ones I will use again.

Allen showed up on time, even called and identified himself before arriving, and we talked about 15 minutes about the house we had just bought

.He checked out the lines from the kitchen with a snake and we had some minor blockage he quickly cleared out.

We then went out and hunted down the badly overgrown pipes from the house and where they went to for draining.

He found several old pits used for traps and we filled them in and closed off the pipes and turned our attention onto the septic tank.

It was completely full and the and quot;dark' water drain was blocked so he advised and strongly recommended the tank be cleaned out then properly inspected. and we agreed.

2 days later the truck showed up as promised and sucked out the tank and inspected it. The employee also cleared the drain lines

He helped cover the tank with dirt, after putting a tarp over the tank to keep out rain water, gave us a inspection report and left.

The technician came out the first day and determined the septic tank needed pumping, so a crew came out to pump the tank, which was buried about 15 to 18 inches deep--a hard job on a hot day. The technician thought pumping the tank might solve the drainage problem with the sink, but it did not, so he came back the next day. He started by putting some acid down the sink. He let that settle for a little while, and then he used an electrically powered auger to try to clear the blockage. The auger came to an abrupt stop, and he was splashed with the acid. He had to change shirts to prevent being burned. He came back in and tried it again. Same thing, except an abrupt stop that yanked the auger off the reel, which the technician had to fight with to get straight. Next, he went under the house and located a couple of clean outs. He opened the one near the sink and was splashed so badly with the acid from the drain that he had to go home and shower. He came back with a high-powered water jet. He was finally able to clear the problem--almost 40 years of grease accumulation that came out in sleeves--it was hard and unlike anything I've ever seen in my life. He then put everything back together and discovered the leak under the sink. It was a pipe that was original to the house, so it had served its life. He stayed to make sure that everything was sound and did not leak. This was not the first plumber we have had out to work on the drains, which have been slow since we moved in. Two other plumbers had been out to fix the problem, and they did improve it some, but not like Allen's. The drains run free and clear now. The technician (James) stayed with the problem until he found out what was going on. I am sure that this was one job that he probably counts as one of his worst days at work. Yes, the $840 bill hurt, but now the problem is fixed. I will definitely call Allen's again if I need other plumbing repairs (or anything that they can fix).

I called them in the morning they were very responsive and were here within the hour. They were and always are very nice professional and thorough. We have used them before and will not use any other plumber in town.

I dropped by Allen's about a week before the time of installation. There I met Mr. Ryan Jones, who is the electrician who did the work. I talked to him for about 10-15 minutes, explaining what I needed and showing him the switch. Ryan is very competent and personable. I left the written switch directions and installation DVD with him. He was willing to watch the DVD on his own time in order to prepare himself to more efficiently install the switch. On the day we arranged for the work to be done, Ryan arrived on time with another gentleman. Ryan returned the DVD and immediately went to work. I have heard of this job routinely taking 3 hours but Ryan efficiently completed the job in a mere 1.5 hours (saving me considerably money!). The switch works perfectly and the cosmetic appearance of the installation is quite good. Allen's offers a variety of electrical and plumbing services. Based on the excellent and affordable job done by Ryan on the transfer switch installation, we will certainly use Allen's (and Ryan) again in the future.
On a side note, I strongly recommend using a transfer switch to anyone wanting to power their home with a portable generator. It is the safe and legal way to wire in a generator, preventing accidental shocks and fires.
