CM COASTAL CONSTRUCTION & REMODELING

Coastal Remodeling screened in my front porch in November 2023. Upon initial inspection, the porch looked good although they did not paint the new trim boards inside the screens, meaning those new boards did not match the rest of the white trim boards on the porch. Unfortunately, one month after installation, one of the screens came loose from the frame leaving a large entrance for mosquitoes. In addition a second screen became very loose a few weeks after installation. Furthermore the screen door they installed is dragging on the porch flooring making it difficult to open and close the screen door. Pretty awkward welcome into my home. I have managed to keep out the mosquitoes with some wide white gorilla tape to match the white frame of the screens, but it does not look “finished”. I have been communicating with Todd for two months about repairing the mistakes even offering to pay him because I am going to put my house on the market in three weeks. Todd promised he would do the work in September. But Todd is no longer responding to me. I will look for a more reliable company next time.

With our recent rains, the repair to our rook seems fine. Cosmetically it looks good. However, we've had two flat tires due to roofing nails carelessly left in the driveway. It took three days to complete a one day job with the workmen here disappearing from time to time. We had to endure a pile of waste wood and roofing in our front driveway for the 3 days when it could easily have been removed day one. The tire repair cost $30 each tire - hopefully, we don't incur any more expenses over the $60. So, regardless of the job preformed, I would not recommend this company for a roof repair.

I've used CM coastal construction on two separate occasions and on both jobs found their work to be excellent and very professional. The pricing was very fair, according to my research, the projects were completed in a timely manner, and I found Charles McLain, and his employees to be very honest and easy to work with. In regards to both projects, I thought that they may have been to small for CM to get involved with, but Charles tackled these jobs with the same dedication to excellence as he would had they been major construction projects. In fact when I contacted Charles he was in Louisiana doing a big job for DaVita Analysis, and he returned my call immediately and set up an appointment to meet me and discuss the options available. I will use CM again when the need arises and will recommend him to my friends.
