McClung Surveying

I asked to get a date & time when they would be conducting the survey. For that, it had to be scheduled a few days later. They arrived on time and the 3 worked quickly. I didn't want to bother them as they looked very busy. They struggled on finding one marker in the back corner of my backyard, which was heavily overgrown. After struggling, they decided to do it another way. I received the survey in the mail about a week later.

They were very helpful and courteous. We needed the survey done quickly to have for our closing and they were able to accommodate us.

First, Jessica in the office was very pleasant and helpful. Patrick and crew were thorough (measuring from many angles because of my small and unusual plot), were courteous, and patient with my many questions. I received an email copy of my survey the following day and hard copies 2 days later. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a survey.

The drawings were delivered on time but didn't reflect what the historic platting described. Months went by and neither our lawyer (who knows the company owner), or ourselves got a response. To all calls, the response would be the same: the surveyor would call us back to discuss/clarify but nobody ever did. At the last call, the lady on the phone was rude and gave a lame explanation to what had been our concern. Later, she changed her tone with the promise that somebody would call us back. Nobody did.
We contracted this company, even though we knew they were more expensive than others, because of a time constrain. They did schedule us right away and delivered on time, but with the non-existant follow up and the actual drawings we got, it was certainly not worthy the money.
This experience and service was beyond disappointing.

Well.  They did the research necessary for the survey.

I talked to Jeff McClung at McClung surveying about a month earlier and explained that I wanted a survey done on a small parcel of land that I just purchased that neighbors my property.  Jeff looked up the parcel id in question on Cobb County GIS and by just looking at that information warned me that my primary property was a non-conforming R20 lot.  I needed 75 feet of road frontage which I don't have.  Jeff suggested that I needed to protect my primary residence by not splitting the small parcel into two pieces and selling one.  Jeff said I can get the 75 feet of road frontage by combining the two lots.  Thus, I would be protecting the future marketability of my property and not require variances before adding on, rebuilding, etc.

Jeff was more concerned about explaining the risks to me and said he realized that his warning might keep him from getting the job since I wouldn't need the survey. 

Eventually I had the survey done anyway and McClung in the process of surveying the parcel was able to explain to me a 20 year mystery as to why some of the measurements didn't seem to add up.  A survey done 2 years ago did not explain the mystery.  Note that the mystery was outside of the parcel being surveyed....but McClung went to the extra effort to show all of the neighboring property, thus clearing up the mystery.

I give McClung an A+++.   I'm not sure that any other surveyor would have mentioned the non-confirming issue and then go the extra mile during the survey to clear up an issue outside of the parcel being survey.

Survey when great ! I  explained to them that there was a suspected issue with the property  line and in addition it had been reported by  county workers that their might be issues with the survey of this area.  They cam in performed the survey, found  pins marking the lot which allowed me to confirm the back 15 ft of my neighbors yard was actually mine.   Approximately 2 days later I received a electronic copy of the survey followed by four hard copies about a week after that.  Based upon past survies  for properties in other states I believe we  received  pretty good value for the buck.

It went well.  They delivered on time.  It was detailed.  They provided both soft and hard copy of my survey.

We scheduled  a time for the survey and they were prompt.  The men were  diligent in their search for the pins, especially since was raining most of the time.  They sent us the plat drawings in a timely fashion .  We were pleased to do business with them.

Their operator was very helpful and informative about a process alien to us.  They got out on short notice and provided excellent documentation. The plat has already been helpful in working with a fencing company.  Quick and good, what more can you ask?
