I purchased my home in December 2013. I moved into the house in February 2013. I hired Ken West in February, who advised me while the yard was in fair shape, it would take some time to and quot;bounce backand quot;. I was advised I had a mixture of centipede and Bermuda, with the predominant grass being centipede. Mr. West advised and quot;now is the time to begin the pre emergent processand quot;. We set a plan to have 6 treatments over the course of the year, every 6 weeks to do the pre emergent, weed control, and fertilization for $80 per visit. Then we set a plan to do regular mowing and general upkeep for $70 every two weeks. I paid Mr. West $220 from Feb 2013 to June 2013. Mr. West billed me 4 times for the pre emergent, weed control, and fertilizer. I paid him every 2 weeks also for the mowings. The last time Mr. West came out here, he claimed he put out fertilizer and left me invoice for $80. I questioned him about the lack of visible fertilizer. I called several companies out and all said the same thing and quot;you were scammedand quot;. After an email to Mr. West, he immediately cashed my check. When I got home there was so little fertilizer you could only see a few granules on the yard, which is over 1 acre. I hired another yard company to do the maintenance from June til now (oct 2013) the end of the season, as the companies said that there would be no use trying to do any work now that the season is over. I was told by all the companies that regardless of what shape the yard was in, that if Mr. West had done what I paid, I would not have just as many weeds in October, no green grass, the centipede never grew. I discovered that Mr. West was throwing all the clippings and debris on the back side of my property. Even after requesting him to take the clippings, he left them. My yard is a bigger mess than it was 8 months ago. I paid Mr. West $220 a month for 5 months. I feel taken advantage of being a woman who was not that familiar with yard work, that my yard looks exactly the same. I have since done a lot of research and contacted a lot of companies, and while my yard had been let go with the prior owner, all the companies said the same thing...That is why you do the pre emergent (WHICH I PAID MR WEST TO DO IN FEBRUARY). He claimed to come out here 3 times for weed control, and had to and quot;re treatand quot; a couple times. I again learned that if you treat a yard for weeds, that once you treat it, the weeds die. It has nothing to do with last season, as once the winter has passed, that's the point of weed control in the spring. I do not believe Mr. West fertilized my yard either, as it never did grow in ANY of the patchy areas, no new grass grew, and I have pictures where the yard looks the same. I am very disappointed that Mr. West took my money and my grass looks the same. I believe Mr. West tried to act like my yard being in not so great shape was an excuse.
