There was no problem with the work as far as I could tell, however last time Michael was here a few months ago, and this time, Michael found parts that although still working may have questionable reliability and should probably be replaced. This time it was a capacitor. He showed me the capacitor and explained how the old ones were made vs. the new ones, blah blah ... how am I supposed to know what a capacitor that is working but has questionable long term reliability looks like? It is beginning to feel like there will always be some new part that he can sell me.
Back in March, the first time Michael serviced our units, a week after he left we had a cold spell and switched to our heating unit. Red flakes floated down from every register served by one of the units. Michael came out to look at it and said he hadn't deen it before. He suggested that we wait and see if the problem dissipated. It did. The problem may have been a coincidence unrelated to his work.
On the last service call, in addition to a labor charge of $117 for well under an hour spent at my home Michael tacked on his standard travel charge of $25. What makes the travel charge unreasonable is that he called before he came to say that since he was right down the street from me he could swing by and take care of my problem while he was in our community. This was the same case the last time he serviced our air conditioner two months before, $25 travel when he said he was working down the street from us. About the charge he had explained earlier that he lived some distance away and so the charge was justifiable.
Even though Michael is very personable and professional there are just too many good alternatives out there for me to continue doing business with him.

Came in, analyzed the problem, made necessary permanent and temporary repairs to make the unit operational. Updated us on situation, ordered a part to replace temp. repairs. We replace with standard unit asap. Michael Walker supports our chuch and my home with HVAC service and repairs. Our church has 13 HVAC units, my home has 2. He has converted and redesigned 5 of the 13 units at church for more efficient operation.

We have been using him for quite some time. He also does some work in the church that I am affiliated with. He is responsive. He is not a large contractor and provides personalized service. He had to redesign the air distribution system and did not charge me for that. He has been trustworthy and a good person to work with. He tells us what he thinks and sticks to it. He is reasonably priced too. He wouldn?t be the best bet for a really large job, though.

Very smoothly and per schedule based on equipment availability. We had two separate failures of a/c units, he came out and determined the problem, got the unit info, work with me to check if it was in warranty, it was in both cases, and set with the equipment supplier to exchange for replacement units. We needed the units in a couple of days. He scheduled a prompt return and replacement after exchange and made the repairs w/i 24 hours. Also, as a part of check out, he discovered a separate serious equipment problem with the fan, corrected this problem and checked all the other units.
