Moving
When the moving company arrived with our goods, they had five people unloading which made it impossible to follow what they were doing, as they were in a big hurry. None of the items were inventoried as we were told they would be and several items were damaged. After they were done, we proceeded to check out some items that were accessible in the storage unit and found that they stacked extremely heavy boxes on top of boxes marked FRAGILE and now the fragile boxes are crushing down. We cannot possibly get to the fragile boxes to see what is damaged because they packed the storage unit so tightly, it is impossible to get at anything. They placed a lawn edge trimmer on its side, leaving the few drops of oil left in the trimmer to leak on to a box with shoes in it. We were able to get to that box and oil ruined the shoes. Also, several plastic storage containers are cracked from weight on top of them. Who knows what we will find when we finally unpack all of our items in four months !!
I have been in touch with Stevens claim center several times and they refuse to take responsibility for our claims. We asked for a representative of the company to come to our storage facility to observe what we are claiming and they still refused. Their answer was that we should have spoken to the driver the day of the move about our concerns and since we didn't, we have no grounds. As I stated above, it is next to impossible to check everything the day of the move because of all the confusion.
I feel that Stevens does not stand by their clients and they are extremely difficult to work with.
MY ADVISE IS TO CHOSE ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY ...... DO NOT USE STEVENS WORLDWIDE VAN LINES!!!!!

The price started out being $5,600 but then they changed it to $4,600 because of the weight. They did not bring enough people; they only had 2 people to load a 4,500 square foot home. When we got to Tennessee it was the same thing. They only had 2 people on this end and they didn't hire anybody to help us so my kids had to come and do it. I thought that their price was good; that’s why I went with them. They guaranteed delivery and they were a day late. They did not call me and tell me that they were going to be late. It was a pretty bad experience all the way around.
