SMITTY'S HARDWOOD FLOORS

Fantastic!  They expertly matched existing wood floors in my house and custom made thresholds to granite bathroom floors.  The floors they laid down are absolutely beautiful.  I cannot recommend them highly enough!

A very few times in life, one meets someone who is a true artist at his craft. Smitty falls into this category. I have watched five different providers lay down hardwood floors in five different houses I've owned, but Smitty's work was superior to all the others by far. This house had 30 year old red oak floors of a particular grade that had yellowed with age to the use of oil based poly. Smitty meticulously removed carpet, nailed down the underlay firmly so that the floor would be flat and not creak, laid down an asphalt moisture barrier, carefully laid out the floor, then carefully nailed it down. He stained it to match the existing flooring and laid several coats of poly on it. You literally cannot tell where the old floor ends and the new floor begins. Two transitions to granite bathroom floors did not fit a standard transition piece, so Smitty custom made transitions to fit at his home workshop.
There is none better. He was slightly more expensive than other bidders, but the quality he provides was worth a few hundred dollars more.

They worked quickly and finished within a week so I didn't have to delay my move in date. They found matching white oak quartersawn flooring (85 year old house) and stained it to match existing. You cannot tell the difference. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Definitely lived up to their reputation -- and exceeded it.
