Reasons for the ratings:
Price: Price on the service was about par with other company's, thus the B rating.
Quality: Really liked Joseph, he appeared, to me, to know what he was talking about and was professional and friendly, so I rated quality of the service A.
Responsiveness: I'll come back to responsiveness.
Punctuality: Gave a D rating as the appointment was originally scheduled for a Friday. Thursday was called and it was moved to Monday. Friday was called and it was moved to Tuesday. The slippage of the Service Call did not sit well, as it was explained to the office staff, that we needed to get the door serviced prior to closing. In fairness, the first change was relayed to me as the more experienced/better Tech needed to take a personal day and that's why it was slipped to Monday. That, I can appreciate as it could be a last minute thing/change - no problem, it happens. No real explanation as to the slip to Tuesday, other than - That's when the Tech will be in your area... What? You and/or the Scheduler didn't know that earlier?
Professionalism: The C rating represents a composite score for the company. The Tech is great, the office staff needs more training.
Now, back to Responsiveness. Tuesday at 1:30 pm was when the service call occurred. The Tech stated we needed to get scheduled for the door and opener replacement. Wednesday morning, had yet to hear anything. My wife called and she was told the Tech had not turned in his sheets from the day before. My wife explained our need to get on their "book" for Monday or Tuesday of the following week. My wife was told they needed the sheet from the Tech to schedule us. Wednesday afternoon, no call. Thursday morning no call. I called, Thursday afternoon, and talked to Angela, to find out if and when we were scheduled. On one hand she said we were, when I asked when, it was basically, Monday or Tuesday. I asked Angela again, when our appointment was: Monday or Tuesday? She informed she didn't know as she had not made out the schedule yet. I felt like I was experiencing a bad rendition of Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First?". At this point, I told Angela to send me the bill for the Service Call and I would get someone else to do the needed work.
Needless to say I was quite surprised to receive the bill in my mail box on Saturday. Looks like Angela learned something about responsiveness after all.
When I noticed that the rollers were pulling off the door, I knew the time had come to replace the door, so I called Guy Padgett. He was there three days later and, while I was at work, replaced the door and track, as well as the pull string on the garage door opener. He removed all of the evidence of the old door and track and left the bill, which was exactly what he quoted to me over the phone. When he finished the job, he called me at work to let me know, and asked me to look at his work when I got home.
I called him after I had looked at the work he did, and we arranged for him to pick up a check the next day, again while I was at work, and he was performing another job in the area.
I was very impressed with Guy Padget and his expertise. Padgett Garage Doors is fast, efficient and well worth every penny!
