Landscaping
On the day the work was to be done, Mar. 03,2012 rain was expected. The landscape contractor said "no problem". Within 4 hours is was raining. The workers put on black plastic bags and started rushing around. The small plants were barely placed in proper holes, large camellias were moved from one area to another, pinestraw was every where. In five and 1/2 hours everyone was gone...The next day (Mar.4,2012) the landscaper returned, we walked the yard, front and back. She pointed out large camellias that had been moved to others areas of the yard, numerous small plants had been added. The back yard had nice small plants added for edging. A lot of small plants were added to the beds.Pinestraw was in all the beds, appeared to be thrown in, not placed by hand.Overall it looked ok, nothing exceptable. The landscaper stated since the work was done in a rather rushed maner and because they did not use all the pinestraw, etc. she was only going to charge me $3,000.00 which I paid in full at that time. One week later I noticed the large camellias dropping , many of the small plants were not placed deep enough in the small holes, they were sitting up high but covered with pinestraw. I had an excessive amount of pinestraw in all the beds.I watered more than ever to no avail, the plants were dying..A month later I sent the landscaper an email stating my camellias were dead...I did not receive any response from her...On 5/12/2012 I accidently met her on the street. I told her I had lost two camellias and another very special camellia was looking very poorly, her only comment was that she was very sorry....As a master gardener as the weeks go by I recognize work that was done in a hurry by people that did not know the proper method of transplanting mature camellias. Supervision was nil. It was a case of let us get out of here, its raining....a very poor day to revise a yard...
