We have a dining room table with eight chairs and two leaves that is made of high quality solid oak. It was also stained with a light oak stain and didn't go with the vast majority of our living area furniture, which is an espresso color. Ginn Furniture is about an hour away from our home, so I sent photos via e-mail and received a quote from Danny Ginn for refinishing everything. Shortly after we visited the company when we were in the area, showed them a sample drawer of the finish we were looking for, and arranged to have the work done. Because of the number of pieces, Danny and his wife, Linda, came to our home to pick them up. We told them we needed the dining room set back no later than six weeks, as we were expecting out of town company. Danny called less than four weeks later to say it was ready to be delivered. But he ended up calling back the next day to say he wasn't perfectly satisfied with the way the table top came out and wanted to work on it a little more. He's the expert, so that was fine with us. He ended up delivering the set two days later and it was beautiful, just the color we wanted. On further inspection, there was a small smudge mark on the seat of one of the chairs. Danny insisted on taking it back to the shop, fixed it, and drove back the next day, an hour each way, to return it. He wanted it to be right.
The professionalism of Ginn Furniture is excellent and they are great people to work with. Family owned and run for three generations, a great deal of experience, and very sweet people. There are not many places like this anymore across the country.
Every time we walk by that dining room set we couldn't be happier.
