CULVER RUG CO

I had used Culver for years without incident. I sent several rugs to them last month to be cleaned. One of them was a new rug that was lightly soiled. Without advising me that they had damaged/ruined my new rug, they attempted to return it to me as if nothing was wrong. I called the office and the owner very rudely said that the rug had been a total nightmare and that the damage was my fault because I hadn't told them how to clean it. The rug did not have cleaning instructions on it true but it did have the fiber content clearly stated on it. I informed the owner that I was not a rug professional and that had I suspected that his company didn't know how to clean the rug I never would have sent it to him. They took the rug back to try and rectify the damage which just made it worse. My very expensive rug (thousands of dollars) was completely ruined. After much going back and forth, the owner reimbursed me for 1/2 of the cost of the rug which leaves me with no rug and no money to replace it. To the end the owner's stance was that I was culpable for the situation and that he was not responsible. Needless to say I will not use Culver Rug again and wouldn't recommend them to others.
