It went extremely well. We have used Charlie in the past and knew he was good, so we didn't bother with estimates. Charlie always does a good job for a fair price and he lets you know what is going on every step of the way. We had the tile removed from two bathrooms and new tile installed. One bathroom was done over a tub and the other was a shower stall. We also had new fixtures installed in each bathroom and in one bathroom we had a wall removed and replaced with a glass sliding door. The tile guy Charlie uses is great! He even stopped before installing what we had picked for the shower floor to check with us on the color. It didn't look right to him and sure enough, it wash't right. We were able to replace the tile at minimal cost and avoid what could have been a disaster. The kitchen went just as well. We had old cabinets removed but wanted to keep our granite countertops. Charlie's counter top guy was able to remove about 25-30 linear feet of granite countertops, store them, replace them over new cabinets and refinish them without breaking them, saving us about $3000. The new cabinets are beautiful solid wood with maple doors and fronts and a lovely finish. We are very pleased. All details were made right and we are as happy with Charlie Matzen as anyone could be with a contractor. He is neat and clean and keeps the mess to a minimum. His subs are great. He is the best!

He did a wonderful job. Every detail was taken care of. He stayed in contact with us when needed and followed the design exactly. When something wasn't going to work right he would reach out to us and made sure to discuss all possible alternative choices. We are extremely happy with his work, his professionalism and all of the subs he brought in and supervised. We have already told him he's hired for the next two home improvement jobs we want to complete.

The process went well from beginning to end. Charlie was very neat and clean in all the demolition work. He hung up tarps over the doorways so that dust didn't get into the rest of the house. He kept us informed as to the timing of each part of the project. He had us meet with each subcontractor to discuss in detail what we wanted and to get suggestions from them before we ever started. We were very pleased with the overall quality of the work done, the price of the project and the manner in which Charlie handled everything, including last minute changes we made to the plan. Charlie is a professional contractor in every sense of the word.
