Took over two months for them to make it out here and I was a regular customer! Booked an appointment over their website - ignored. Booked an appointment over the phone - they cancelled. Their technician was fine, but did not have the right filter so they had to come back again. So, I fired them because I think them unresponsive and disorganized and I am sick of the time wasted trying to use them. The owner responded to my negative review on google with an unwarranted and untrue personal attack. Speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

Worst experience of my life. He shows up late to fix my AC, breaks my cable box so my internet goes out, and refuses to come fix it after. I was told for an hour it wasn't, so I asked everything he did and it turns out he pulled the breaker, so I reset it. it WAS him that broke it and they refused to take responsibility! NEVER USE THEM!!!

Horrible attitude by service person. Instead of servicing system he tried to sell me a new unit. Claimed problem was I needed coil cleaned therefore he wouldn’t add coolant then charged my 72 year old mother 79 just to come out to say he wouldn’t resolve her distressed unit. I will never use this outfit again.

They have always been very good. They always come on time. They are very polite and are reasonably priced. I have used them for 8 years.

$359 for 2.5 lbs of R-22 refrigerant (with a $99 service charge?, really?).  But what could I do, he was out there already and it was the middle of August, and he advised against the leak check. I realize the stuff is getting more expensive, but this seemed ridiculous.  Also, it didn't fix the problem, it is now exactly 2 months later and the system is doing the same thing.  Would have expected a much more thorough examination / diagnosis of the problem, not just a temporary fix to get my money.  And for $359, I would have expected a leak check and fix of the leak in addition to the refrigerant.

After contacting several local A/C-heating companies, we decided to sign up with Byrd's for our bi-annual maintenance checks as they were the most responsive to my calls and their price was also the most reasonable. Signing up with them when we did turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Almost immediately after signing up with Byrd's for a maintenance agreement, one of our 3 central A/C units quit cooling. Even though it took 3 trips to determine the problem, I was only charged for one visit and the problem was resolved. The repairman was competent and respectful.

A couple of weeks later, we had our first maintenance check and once again impressed by the thorough checking-out of each of our 3 central units, as well as 2 stand-alone units. Again, the repairman was most courteous.

About a week after our maintenance check, one of our central units total gave out (as the repairman had warned us was imminent), and Byrd's promptly made arrangements for our new unit to be installed in an expedient manner and took care of arranging for the delivery of the unit (by crane) to the roof of our 4-storey home. Once again, the two young men in charge of the installation couldn't have been nicer, and the installation went smoothly, and we even received a Senior discount on our cost of the new unit.. We had cool air by evening on that floor.

A few days after the installation of our new unit, we had some roof repairs made to our roof, and one of the roof repairmen accidentally punctured one of the compressors on our roof. Once again, Byrd's promptly sent someone to our rescue to rectify the problem.

Our experience with Byrd's Heating and Air has been a stellar one and the best A/C-heating service we have had during the 4 decades we have lived in our house. They have our highest recommendation.

Excellent. We pay them yearly for 2 inspections, one in the spring and one in the fall. They explain what they're doing, they are neat and clean, and they have been around for a long time.

We purchased a brand new system from Byrd Heating and Air Conditioning approximately 8 years ago and started having issues about 6 years after the purchase.  We had an annual service contract and a representative came out twice a  year to check it. Long story short, the system completely failed after 8 years and we were told it would cost around $6800.00 to replace it.  We immediately called another company that we found here on Angie's list that had excellent reviews.  The owner of the company came out himself and quoted us a price...saved us well over $2000.00.  After sending in a check to Byrd for our evaluation marked "paid in full" they called us back and told us that they had performed additional work and we owned them another $100.00.  WOW...we sent in a check and will never do business with that company again...very pleased with our new system and utility bills are already looking much better.

Freon Recharge and replacement of conditioner fan was done for me. They were professional, but did brought up some extra charges with the Freon service. Overall, they are good with a B grade.

I was very pleased with Byrd Heating and Air Conditioning. They were very professional. It was a huge job that they have been doing. I do like them and I had no problem with them. He gave me a great deal. They were great from beginning to end. I worked with Sam Byrd himself. The men that installed it was very professional, very nice and everything is perfect. I'll call them twice a year and let them service this.

We had a service technician come out an diagnose the problem. Another technician came back the next day and did a quick repair. The service was quick and efficient, however, the only invoice we received was a $60  labor charge for the item that was replaced (which was under warranty) that was given to us on the second day. I was initially so impressed that we were charged only $60 for labor and the item was under warranty (which we didn't realize) so that part was great. Then, about a week or two later, I get a second invoice for the original service call (when they diagnosed the problem), which was an additional $79 charge. I was annoyed to receive the invoice for this two weeks after the original invoice we received (which did not include the $79 service charge). Other places we have done work with will charge an initial service charge for diagnosing an issue, but include that in the payment towards the repair, which is what I believe should have happened (in addition to actually receiving an invoice at the time of the service call). Additionally, the invoice number listed at the top for the initial diagnostic service charge (which was the first day the technicians were there), had an invoice number ending at a higher number than the invoice that was left the second day of service (meaning it looked to me like it was written afterwards). When I called Byrd heating an air, the person on the phone was not very polite and stated that the technicians have different sets of invoices so they are out of order. She was unable to explain why the original service charge was not left for me. Overall, I probably would have been fine had someone explained the services to me and the pricing. The company was good about coming when called and they fixed our problem with ease. I just didn't like having an addition $79 charge sent to me after the fact. So, if you use Byrd Heating and Air, I recommend you discuss their pricing with them beforehand so you are not caught off guard.

I am perplexed that my six yr old AC has sprung a leak in addition to needing a coil replaced. Last year, this exact time, (May- Memorial Day Weekend) the same service guy responded to my call to look at my then five year old unit. Indicated a coil was needed at the cost of $300+. I was blessed to be able to have the work done immediately.
This Memorial Day weekend, my now six yr old AC has sprung a leak,  needing a new coil, that will cost in the range of $1500-1600.  Ordering the parts is necessary, replacing the "freon" will cost  at least $600 (even though it will leak ) unless the repair is made. Additional cost and labor will be for locating the leak, making sure the extent, then repairing the leak.
We discused the cost of $5000 to replace this six year old unit. Go figure.
I am curious of the nice, professional service guy and the coincidental occurance of service needed. Presently I am without air and researching alternative means to get reputable, trusting, reasonalbe service.

Byrd Heating and Air Conditioning is very professional. I just feel safer knowing that they've been here and checked-out my heating and air-conditioning unit, they go up in the attic and check the duct work and everything. I like them a lot.
