Southern Sprinkler Systems has been actively involved in the irrigation and green industries as well as the local community for years. Our company began in 1999 but has been involved in the irrigation business since the late 1970s. We are not the biggest, but we are the best and plan to be around for a long time! We are a full service lawn irrigation company, and our expert services include lawn sprinkler design, installation, maintenance, repairs/upgrades, water audits and consulting for residential and commercial customers.

Silvinia came out in two days to help us out after an unrelated project left damage to our system. In the course of that work, she identified several broken components that needed to be repaired. Super helpful, professional and responsive!

They came out the day that I called them and were very professional. They replaced a sprinkler head and found another that was leaking and repaired that. I was very impressed with their knowledge and they were a delight to work with. Even their office manager was great to work with.

I have used SSS for a couple years now, Spring start-up and Fall Winterization, plus repairs. I usually have to email more than once to get a response, which can be slow. However, they are knowledgable and professional and their work is good quality, so I continue my service.

Southern Sprinkler Company did not honor our contractual agreement. I paid up front $150 for two visit. The second visit was not performed as agreed upon. I had to badger the company to honor the winter shut down, the representative (Ed) arrival at 6 pm in December when it was dark outside and left a flier in my door suggesting I agree to future maintenance. I waited all day for his arrival and yet he was able to arrive and leave without me noticing him on my property. He did not shut down my system, nor did he flush out my pipes, or cover existing sprinkler heads with pine straw. I asked for an explanation of services and return visit but my request were ignored. Beware consumers, I realize it is difficult to get landscape companies out to perform maintenance but this company should not be trusted.

It was time to turn my sprinklers on for the season and after last year and thinking their pricing was high, I should have contacted another company. But I did not and now I am kicking myself. They came out and turned on my system and supposedly checked all of my zones. Unfortunately, they must not be very thorough as one of my zones never came on. And, to top it off, they charged $180 for the annual maintenance and then on top of that added another $30 for an additional 1/4 hour of labor (really? the annual maintenance does not include any extra time other than opening the master valve and turning on each zone-supposedly) AND $60 in parts for a nozzle and rotor (what a markup over what I could have purchased it for at Lowes or HD). The reason I gave the F in responsiveness & punctuality is that I called back a couple days later to schedule an estimate for some additional heads I needed and the soonest appointment I could get was 3 weeks out. Not very customer service minded when it takes that long to get someone to come out (and that was after it took 3 days to answer my email inquiry). I know this time of year everyone in this industry is busy but I called two other companies and both were willing to come out within a couple days (one came out the same day I called). One final note, be aware that they bring out 2 technicians to each job so their hourly rate is $125.

I fully expected to pay for the repair and associated work. Edward said no it would be covered under warranty from previous work done last year. This is the fourth time I have used Southern Sprinkler. They have been extremely professional, courteous and helpful every time. They may not be the largest, but a great family owned business and good people.

Following my call concerning the operation of my sprinkler system (I wasn't sure it was on),
Southern Sprinkler Systems scheduled a visit immediately for the next day.
It was a very considerate and helpful visit with the owner going out of the way to explain the system and putting it thru a few test runs to be sure I understand how to operate it. I'm more confident of my ability to handle it now, thanks to her patience.
The company did not charge me for the visit....they did it as a courtesy follow-up to the spring start-up visit a few weeks ago.
The owners have always been especially kind and always followed up immediately on any request. Their work is thorough and the charges are very reasonable.
I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are indeed my favorite Angie's List contractor/vendor.

We have been using this company for several years. They are professionals and come when scheduled. Prices seem fair, our system is now 10 years old so a number of components have had to be replaced recently which is expected.

I have been doing business with this company for over 8 years. There communication with you is great, prices are very fair and they are focused on the customer. Just like in the past everything went well. Everything was explained to me and I was shown exactly what they were fixing. I highly recommend this company for all your sprinkler needs.

The price for the repairs were based on the parts that were needed. They have come out a number of times.

This had to be one of the worst experiences I have encountered with a and quot;professionaland quot; service. I was charged $169 fee just to assess the problem. And you don't get this back if they do the work. Minimum time at your house is 2 hours, be aware.
Don't forget to make sure you have your credit card ready for them to swipe. The provide an estimate, hand written, then you have to ask for a proper estimate that it legible because you can't read the scribbled handwriting.
The original estimate (not including the assessment fee) was $490. Once the work was complete is was $970. Once again I asked for a proper, legible estimate, line itemization for each of the charges. This was for a job on a home we sold and committed to the new homeowners we would have it fixed. Southern Sprinklers then provided OUR invoice to the new home owner.
Mrs. Klaas, owner, demanded a credit card payment before the work was even done, was rude and most unprofessional. I asked Ms Klaas if I could confirm from the owners that the job was completed to their satisfaction before I submitted payment in order not to have any additional problems or issues come up. I received several rude emails from her on how disappointed she was that I did not provide the credit card information as I said and that my dealings with the new homeowners was not their problem. This is accurate. However, I wanted to make sure other issues would not surface after we paid the invoice.
My advice, shop around and find someone who is not so money grubbing hungry that they foget what customer service is. Would never recommend to anyone needing irrigation work.

Evidently you were under stress from moving and chose to take it out on us. Your system was struck by lightning and was so damaged that most companies wouldn't have even attempted a repair. You even contracted a plumber in advance to cap off your irrigation main line, a repair we had to redo. Most companies would have started over and it would have cost significantly more. The new homeowner is now an excellent and satisfied customer, something that you never were or ever would have been with us or any other irrigation contractor. He is thrilled with our service and we are thrilled to have an amicable and mutually beneficial customer/contractor relationship. How refreshing! Finally, people often complain about poor contractors. While that is certainly the case far too often, it is not the case with us. However, there are also cases of really bad customers and you fit the bill. Just sayin'!"

Ed with Southern Sprinkler Systems was very professional and knowledgeable with irrigation. He found we had a missing rain sensor on a system installed two years ago. Ed mad recommendations on watering patterns and allotted water times by zone. I purchased their annual maintenance contract and would recommend Southern Sprinkler Systems to friends and neighbors.

Southern Sprinkler has done my winterizing since 2010. When they came this year to turn the system on, they did a review of the coverage and zones. They determined that due to growth in my landscaping, some of my zones were getting way too much water and some of the heads were spraying into the backs of plants or trees. They corrected what they could on that visit with redirection and time settings, but gave me an estimate for the work to move the heads as needed. The original estimate was a little lower, but when they returned to do the moves, some of the heads needed to be replaced with more effective heads for the area. They said they would arrive at noon, I got a call ten minutes before and they were at the door at noon - very punctual!. They did the repairs, cleaned up everything, and even left me the heads they took out in case I needed to replace any in the future. Silvina was a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable about my system and the watering needs in my yard.

There was a little communication problem between the owners of the co. One quoted me a returning customer price, the other didn't know about it. It required some additional communication to resolve. But it all was OK in the end.

We noticed a leak in a retaining that we guessed was coming from the old sprinkling system. I turned the water at the street and found Southern Sprinkler Systems in Angie's List. There was a 10% off labor coupon. I called and talked with the owner, Ed. He had a technician at our house within and hour. Tim, the technician, worked quickly and professionally. he was able to cap off the old system. When it did not completely stop the water leaking, he helped us see that it wast probably the water line into the house. He recommended a plumbing service which happens to be own we have used before. Southern Sprinkler Systems met our expectations and were professional.
