We brought our 7month old puppy to be spayed and boarded for the week while our hardwood floors were being refinished. Getting an appt was simple and the phone and front office staff were very friendly and helpful. I have no complaints about this aspect of the practice. We brought our dog in on Tues for the surgery and picked her up on Friday. They allowed us to bring in a favorite toy and towel for her cage, since she had never been boarded before. We called each day to check on her and the staff was very patient with us.
The trouble began after we checked out on that Friday afternoon. The tech gave me 2 bottles of medication to give her and other than that, I was not given any discharge instructions. No doctor met with me to discuss her activities although they did tell me over the phone to keep her confined. I was NEVER instructed about wound care or what to watch for. Once we got the dog home, she began to urinate frequently all over the house despite being house-trained for 2 months. When she was taken outside to urinate, it was obvious that she was experiencing some discomfort because she kept trying to go and then leaping up suddenly. Because she'd just had surgery and it was after the vet had closed, I ended up taking her to the emergency vet where she was diagnosed with a raging urinary tract infection. The Dr. told me that this was common in females who had been recently spayed.
My main complaint is that because she'd been boarded there immediately after surgery, they would've noticed this issue had they been paying a small amount of attention to her when they took her out to the bathroom --- assuming they did take her out, which I highly suspect that they did not. When we asked the Dr. how something like this could have been overlooked, his response was and quot; we don't check up on them when they are being boardedand quot;...Additionally, when I called and left a voicemail on Friday evening to tell them that I was taking her to the emergency vet, they did not follow up the next day or any subsequent day after, in spite of the fact that the report was faxed over to them that night.
I believe this practice was at the very least, negligent in the care of my dog. A couple of the Drs seem to be kind-hearted and care about the animals, however, they either don't have the time , staff or resources to make sure the animals are looked after properly. For as much as they charge, it is clear that the money is not going toward patient care.

She is easy to go along with and understanding. I paid for the services but didn't pay for the extra visits.

I have followed Dr.Leck from facility to facility over the years. She will only be taking appointments at this particular facility until the seventh of September. At that point in time she will be relocating to another facility in our area on a full time basis. I have a lot of animals and she is just so sincere. I like her a lot. She is also certified and licensed to take care of reptiles and things like this. I mean she is a person you could have see a bird, cat, small animal, or anything like that. She is an A plus plus doctor.

I had been a client of another animal clinic in the Peachtree Corners area for a little over 10 years and had several VERY negative experiences with them in 2005 and 2006. I was referred to Mtn. Park Plaza, specifically Dr. Susan Leck, by my babies pet sitter. We changed doctors 'officially'; I phoned their office and made an appt. Within 24 hours of my call Dr. Leck called me the following evening, personally, to introduce herself and learn more about Versace and Francesca's health and behavior history. She spoke with me about my expectations of her as my babies' doctor, my expectations of her practice (as I am the 'paying' client) and inquired if I also wanted a referral to a holistic vet, in addition to her services. I had expressed to her that the kids had also been seeing a holistic vet (not at Ptr' Corners). She provided me a professional referral for holisitc medicine as well. She was very genuine, sincere and when the kids went in to see her, they both adored her!
