"I'm sorry you had a bad experience here at Honest-1. Fortunately, 1000s of people have a great experience here and they know that we would never upsell unnecessary services. The car you brought in was a 1997 Toyota Corolla with 133,000 miles on it. When you came in, you asked for an oil change and you also asked us to check your power steering. (I do not have any notes or details on why you wanted us to check your power steering.) Clearly - you knew there was an issue with your power steering or you would not have asked us to look at it. We found a leak at your power steering pump and we recommended replacing that pump. We also recommended a power steering fluid exchange which should also be done when replacing the pump. We also noticed a leak at your water pump and that two rear lights were not working - the high mount third brake light and right hand license plate tag light. We did not try to upsell you - but we did ask if your timing belt had been replaced. Toyota recommends replacing the timing belt and water pump at 105,000 miles. Since your water pump had a leak, it was a very logical question on our part. (Typically, when you have your timing belt replaced - the water pump will be replaced at the same time.) For an 18 year old car to have a leak or two is not an uncommon thing. When you bring your car in for an oil change (or any other service) at Honest-1, we are going to inspect it and tell you what we see. We will ALWAYS let the customer know what we see and make recommendations on repairs. We will NEVER, EVER pressure a customer to make repairs. This is an interesting business that way. If we don't inspect your car and then a problem pops up - some people will blame us for the problem or for not noticing the problem. In this case, we inspected your car - specifically looking at a system you asked us to look at. We pointed out the problem and recommended a solution. Now we are getting criticized for recommending that solution. Good luck with your future car repairs."

Their service is very good and their prices are pretty high. The work that they did was an A and their prices are probably an F. I won't use them again in the future because they are too expensive.

In your review, you said the price was $700; the actual price was $624 including taxes and shop supplies. According to RepairPal, which is a website that estimates prices - a radiator replacement with coolant should cost between $444 and $803 before taxes and shop supplies. RepairPal is a great resource for determining fair prices. Our price to you before taxes and shop supplies was $562 - so toward the lower end of the RepairPal estimated range. Also, our price included a cooling system flush and a new radiator cap - which would have added to the RepairPal estimate. Again - thank you for rating our service an "A"."

Unfortunately, my a/c compressor is broken and the recharging didn't work more than a week, but I had to try.
