They are probably OK if you don't have any issues. However, the owner isn't good at handling challenges. I have used a different company in the past and will return to them for future jobs.

Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for any tree service work! Redfern was a huge disappointment and was way overpriced! I made the mistake by hiring them to take down 8 trees on my property. I had to terminate the job after the first day and have another company finish it. Redfern showed zero respect for my property when they were taking down the trees and when operating their equipment. For example, a small area of my property was a bit damp which easily could have been avoided. But instead of avoiding the area or using protective boards when driving there, they were using it as a ‘playground’ with their bobcat and turned the area into a huge mud pit. I brought this up with the owner (Azur) who immediately (without even seeing any of the damages) refused to admit any wrongdoing and did not even offer to come out and look at the damages or to perform any repairs. I was so shocked by his attitude and he left me with no other option than to terminate the job and have another company take down the remaining trees. - Overpriced – they were 30% more expensive than some of their competitors (which were also were fully insured) - Poor communication – no upfront communication when the crew was going to show up - Horrible customer service – the owner refused to admit any wrongdoing and to do things right - Poor workmanship – the crew caused damages to my property and left debris and other trash behind

Overall we had a very positive experience with Redfern. The owner actually came to our home to give us the estimate. He went above and beyond in suggesting other ways we could improve our property with trimming and tree removal. They were competitively priced and very professional. We did have a minor issue with stump grinding in one area, but they ensured the work was done and met our expectations.

Red Fern does a good job of reaching out to get the project setup. Where they didn't do a good job was: 1- Communicating when the person stump grinding will be coming out. The guy just showed up at 8AM one morning while I was on my way out the door. That's a problem because I wasn't able to plan to be home to verify his work. 2- For stump grinding they farm it out. I suggest you find someone who actually does the grinding instead of playing with the middle man. That makes communication when you find that there's a problem, much less of a pain. 3- The sales person who came out understood that I needed a cleanup after grinding. Come to find out after the fact that it was not included, and for 450.00 for two areas to chase roots, and one tiny (4") trunk to be ground, that seemed excessive without cleaning. Yes Red Fern will respond to this and say I should have read the footnote in the contract better, and I say that they should have been more clear about what cleanup applies to. Buyer beware, ask 20 questions before you sign on. 4- Job wasn't done right. So to compound the error of the misunderstanding of the cleanup, and since I wasn't home when the stumps were ground, I had to do it myself and find out a major root was missed. That wouldn't normally be a big deal except that we were reseeding our lawn and now I needed this 3rd party to come back out and grind the stump the same day as the reseeding was happening. Red Fern promised the guy would come up very first thing in the AM, the guy showed up at 12:30PM. Another fail. Over all while everyone is polite, they really don't give a darn about the customer or the issue they're having. Yes they will fix what ever things were not done right, but that's only because I withheld payment until I was satisfied. I'd look elsewhere.

Redfern Tree Service was wonderful...! They arrived at my home around 8:30am and they were gone at 12:30pm. In those four hours, they removed two very large trees, one smaller tree, and did a nice job trimming some low hanging limbs on two other trees. These guys worked hard, and at the end of the job, they cleaned up so well that you would never know they were here. The next day, another crew came to stump grind the stumps of the three trees they removed. The crew was led by Armando, who was so very helpful to us in answering questions and seeing to it that the crew did a perfect job. This was an amazing experience. Redfern did work for us about 10 years ago when another large tree had to be removed. We called in about 10 companies, but after checking their qualifications and their insurance, we went with Redfern. The Owner, Azur, has the proper liability and workmen's compensation coverage. Some of the other companies did not have proper insurance. One actually had no insurance at all...! Redfern was not the highest priced quote, nor were they the lowest price we found. But without a doubt, if you need trees removed, give Azur a call. You will be delighted with the results.

I was given an appointment within a few days of calling, and received an estimate within 48 hrs. They worked with me on the price and scheduling and the job was done and executed very well. It was easy to get a response from the owner and with multiple calls and emails to the office. A great job and easy to work with - definitely recommend and I would hire again for future work. Azur’s team is extraordinary. We had them at our home for several full days of "low impact" tree removal. 
 The job was completed PERFECTLY. They showed great respect for my extensive ornamental garden, which is my entire back yard. 
 At no extra cost they even limbed up some trees and removed other small trees not part of the quote. After completing my job they were also hired by several of our neighbors. You will not be disappointed.

Great work. One tree cut down with company owned crane. The second tree had to be climbed. Competitively priced. Crews had obviously worked together for years. Clean-up complete. Owner conducted site inspection and set written quoted via email; was on site to make sure the crews understood what needed to be accomplished; and returned the following day to inspect the work and verify clean-up. Highly recommed this company.

Everything had to be done by hand. The price was very competitive and the team did a great job; cleaned up everything. After they left, couldn't hardly tell 5 people were in the back yard bringing down a tree.

Amir and his crew (Jose was the crew leader) were fantastic. If you didn't know we were having the tree work done, you would never know they had been in our yard. They were prompt and were done in 4 hours including grinding the stumps. Would definately use them again without hesitation.

We got quote from 3 companies but choose RedFern because even though they are a big, full-service company, the owner personally does all the quotes, and he provided lots of good information and advice to us. We also liked that RedFern does all their own stump grinding and log hauling, where the others we quotes outsourced those things. We did not want 10 giant trees worth of logs sitting on our curb for 3 days, and RedFern removed them as they went. The job took two days and the crew worked very hard. They managed to save our dogwood that was a foot from a huge pine, and they trimmed up some black cherry trees and a cedar that was dead on top. They did a nice job with plywood on the yard to protect the grass from the Bobcat wheels. The crew was friendly and professional.

They've taken down number of trees for us over the years. They've always done a great job. Their pricing has always been very good. We've been thoroughly pleased with them. They're very safe. They've been very good. I have no complaints at all.

I had used them before. They are highly professional and very experienced. They are timely and clean up so you would never know that they were on your property. What I like most about Redfern Tree Service Inc is that they are professional.

Redfern's initial quoted price for the work was identical to one of its competitors, but Redfern provided a 3.00% discount for paying in cash which broke the tie.  The crew showed up on time, performed all the work as promised.  They had a crew of about six guys and they completed the work in just over an hour.  They were thorough in cleaning up all the branches and leaves from the yard and driveway.  This is the second time I've used Redfern, and the second time they did an excellent job for me.  I plan to use Redfern again in the future, and recommend them without hesitation to anyone who needs tree services.

Azur was prompt in scheduling a visit for an estimate within one day of submitting our request.  He was prompt and friendly and knowledgable.  We purchased this house in June of last year and he provided outstanding recommendations on many tree's in our backyard including the two Pear tree's.  The estimate was sent via email the same day and within two days Azur called for the date of the work to be completed.  The team arrived yesterday 3/21 and Juan was the lead.  The team was here for 4 hours and Azur stopped by to make sure everything was going according to the estimate.  The team did an outstanding job hauling out all the debris and cleaning up the yard, sidewalk and driveway.  Thanks to Azur, Katrina, Juan and the entire team at Redfern!

Excellent!!!! While they weren't the cheapest quote we got, they came highly recommended. We probably could have gone with a company who gave a slightly better price, we were very pleased with the value and professionalism Redfern provided. Workers (both field and office) were timely, considerate and knew what they were doing. They were careful not to make a mess of the rest of the yard and thoroughly cleaned up when they were done. We gave the workers a tip over and above the agreed upon price because we were so pleased with their work. Have already recommended to neighbors.

It went very smoothly. They were very professional and would highly recommend them. They bring a truck to haul off any large limbs and grind up the smaller ones. Nothing is left on the street and everything is cleaned up before they leave.

On the morning of 10/14/2014 we awoke to our 2 beautiful Bradford pear trees damaged due to the prior nights storm. Both trees had fallen over into our driveway. We immediately called Azur at Redfern tree service. Azur scheduled his crew to immediately come out and remove the 2 trees. The price was less than half what I expected. The crew was awesome. They removed the trees and cleaned the entire area in time for my wife to be able to leave the house for an important meeting. Redfern does a tremendous amount of work in our subdivision and everyone who has used them highly recommends them. Thanks Azur for outstanding service. Jon Bolander
