Auto Glass, Auto Body Work
Mobile technician showed up on time for our scheduled appointment and brought all the stuff he needed. I gave him the keys to my car, and he removed the old windshield and put the new one in reasonably quickly, and didn't leave any mess in the car. When I came out to inspect the work, I found that he had failed to transfer a trim piece (probably 1/2" by 48", so not something small!) off the bottom of the old windshield to the new one, and hence had to use a lot of glue to attach some moldings at the bottom of the windshield back on.
Having done some work on this car before, I asked him about this missing trim piece, and he said the new windshield didn't come with a new one. After some discussions about the fact that the moldings he had glued in (instead of snapping into the missing trim) would prevent anyone in the future from ever replacing the car's battery, he agreed to look around in his truck for the old trim. Miraculously he found the old trim piece immediately and he hadn't crumpled it into a ball or damaged it. At this point, the glue he had applied was half dry, so he spent another 30 minutes scraping the glue off and installing the old trim piece properly.
I don't believe that this was willfully done (or would have rated an "F"), but for a company that does mobile glass repair, I expected the technician to have recognized this problem and solved it instead of hoping the customer wouldn't notice.
