"I appreciate [Member Name Removed]'s comments. The customer and myself talked several times and she said she was happy and even asked for extras to be done. The error was not noticing a part of a fence that was left out of the equation. At the end of the day, I was told there were several items to be done and our team provided her with the complete job. [Member Name Removed] was very understanding and agreed to everything we discussed and I walked her through anything additional. We did not do anything additional without approval from the customer. My best to [Member Name Removed]. Thank you,"
"We came into [Member Name Removed] Home after not being painted for over 15 years. It needed a lot of work both inside and outside. We went over and beyond to fix many items that were not on our agreed list of items to do. We did this on the interior and exterior of her home. We replace many pieces that were rotted and neglected. We did not do anything extra without any approval from the customer.. We brought the home back to a great looking home when all work was completed. We did several walk through's with the customer and spoke to the husband and was very satisfied. Thank you."
In general, the consistency of work done in the house is disappointing. I am surprised at the lack of attention to detail. Furthermore, we had to wait a week for the team leader to come back to finish the job, which left our house torn a part for that much longer. When he did return, he asked me for gas money to cover the cost of the trip. Wow.
The involvement from Scott in terms of quality control and job management was non-existent. He neglected to respond to two emails I wrote regarding the quality of the work. I had to print out the details regarding the job to provide to his team. Scott came by for 3 minutes to say hello and collect payment. He did not share with the team any of the details of what they were suppose to do or what he had promised to deliver. He farms out the job to a team leader and then "goes out of town".
Satisfied with the service and would use them again for interior work as well.

"Hi (removed member name), Thank you for your recent review on Angie's List, it is very appreciated! I am very glad to know that you were satisfied with your exterior painting project and look forward to working with you again. Best Regards, Scott Csaszar"
I continued to bring these issues to the foreman's attention and he kept saying it would be ok and pretended to not understand English. I say this because when I said they were not getting paid until the issues were resolved, he understood. I also told him to get the owner, Scott, on site. Scott refused to come or speak to me directly, claiming to be out of town at a funeral. However, later I saw in another review he used the same excuse to not show up and resolve issues.
I had to project manage the job myself. It was very stressful and I had to take off work for a week and three days. During the second week I had to go back to work. The crew was still reworking my checklist. When I came home the painters had killed three plants, over sprayed my lawn furniture and buckled the stucco wall between my two garage doors. I negotiated some adjustments on the cost of the overall job, but nothing covered my time, aggravation and stress. They never brought any wood to do the dormer repairs, so if I wasn't there to see that they did not actually do any repairs they would have just painted over it and still charged me. Later I got estimates to have the stucco repaired, $800 -$1000.
I've owned many houses as a home owner and landlord for the the last 30 years. So I know what's required to paint a house properly. I've never seen anything like this! These folks are shameless crooks.
The paint job looks really great. The caulking and carpentry work is good as well. The house is 4 sided brick, so this job was all trim painting. There is no "overspray" (they did not use the sprayer very much). They cleaned up after themselves nicely. Never saw them slacking off. The crew was polite.
They also painted the light fixtures at my front door and replaced dryer and exhaust vent caps.
On the carpentry, I would say that if you require complicated woodwork repair, go ahead and hire a carpenter. These guys are great on the basic wood rot, door frames, etc. We had a porch rail that unfortunately is no longer manufactured. They did their best to patch and make the new pieces blend in since no real match exists. That work is just "okay". It's fair to say it was a bit out of their comfort zone.
At the end of the job, they only added maybe $50 to the price due to the additional wood rot that they discovered along the way. That was a nice surprise, since I thought it would be more costly.
This company has painted over 20 homes in our neighborhood. They value their reputation and did a good job for us.
"Flawless Painting provided an excellent paint job for this customer. She was very happy with with crew and the overall project on her house and deck. We did not rush through her job, we took our time to complete the project to our customer's satisfaction. On my initial inspection of the home, I know that all of the screens were not damaged or torn. I am not sure if there were any missing screens. When the customer claimed that we had damaged her screens, I agreed to pay for half of the screens to resolve a situation that I knew had been blown out of proportion. The screen company came out and did their own inspection and automatically said that all of the screens were damaged. I reacted quickly and agreed to the resolution to pay for half of the screens. Our crew even returned to install the new screens at no additional charge. The figurine the homeowner is claiming to have discovered 8 months after the project was completed, was addressed at the time and a discount was applied for the accidental breakage. For this customer to post this review after 8 months, I find very disappointing especially after everything we did to try to accommodate her concerns and issues. As the owner of Flawless Painting, I was personally involved in the resolution of this customer's concerns and believe the facts of this account have been totally taken out of context. It is a total misrepresentation to claim that we "broke or tore ¾ of her window screens" including trying to repair an outside figurine without telling her. Not only did we provide an excellent paint job, completed on time and the customer was aware of the broken figurine which she was compensated for at the time of her project. Prep world for interior was poor. Several drywall joints are plainly visible. When I asked for the joints to be properly prepared...I was told that they were visible because we chose semigloss paint. I am going to have to spend several hundred dollars to repair defects. The primary cause of the defects was the failure to remove loose tape, replace, re-mud and sand.
Exterior work proceeded as weather allowed. The problem is painters rushed painting of rear of house, and failed to allow for sufficient time for drying..result is paint is peeling and will need to be re-prepped and painted. Many voids between woodwork and brick that were not caulked. Hopefully they will honor their "2 year exterior warranty".
Project manager was polite and professional, but did not pay attention to detail and did not hold workers accountable to do the job right..the first time.
Very disappointed...
"In all fairness, this review is not a fair representation of the services Flawless Painting provided to this homeowner. To begin with, the customer hired an interior designer who selected all the paint colors and required sheens for the project. Flawless Painting purchased exactly what we were told to. This included the oil based paint for the trim and latex paints they specified for the ceilings and walls. The project also included painting their garage which was very messy and in a complete disarray. We moved a lot of articles from the garage into the home which is beyond our scope of service. The home had not been maintained for several years and requiring numerous repairs over and above the painting. Flawless Painting did not complete any work outside during inclement weather. We also worked from "area to area" as the customer requested. We asked the homeowner several times as we completed each area, if they liked the work that had been completed which they said they did. We communicated with the customer everyday to keep them informed on the progress of their job giving them ample opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns they may have had during the course of their job. The prep work completed for the interior was very good and we explained the seams were not going to come out of the drywall due to the fact that the sheetrock was not perfectly installed (hung) when the house was built. When you have seams, not cracks, it is not required to cut and replace the tape. If the tape is loose or coming apart, then we will remove the tape, apply new tape, mud and sand it. Cracks on walls get repaired as well as nail pops for the walls. The sheen was not semi-gloss as the homeowner states, it was satin. Once again, we didn't select the paint type or sheen, their interior designer did. The exterior painting was performed diligently and without weather issues. If there are cracks or peeling paint, we are more than glad to address it and fix those areas. Any caulking that is needed will be repaired as well. These items are all covered under warranty. We went beyond and above our normal scope of work and service to accommodate this customer. They had had a foyer window replaced. When we prepped and painted it, we discovered the window from their contractor who had installed it, was defective and fogged. They had the window replaced and we returned to their home to re-prep and re-paint the window area and foyer wall without any additional compensation. which Flawless Painting had nothing to do with in the first place. This is one example of what we did to accommodate this customer without requiring additional compensation. Once again, I have no problem of inspecting the rear of their home and handing any issues that need to be taken care of. Flawless Painting takes great pride in our work and the level of customer service we provide. We knew nothing of this homeowners concerns until we learned of it from AngiesList.com. Normally, any of our customers who has a question or concern would call us to discuss it so we could get it resolved."
