The first job this company did at my house was absolutely impeccable, so I had no hesitation to hire them again. I am not sure why the quality was inferior this time. It was a more time consuming job, with lots of cabinet doors and shelves to remove and put back. When they were done there were so so many places that the light primer was visible through the dark paint. Almost every shelf front was essentially unpainted, just primed. The walls needed to be touched up nearly everywhere you looked. Navy is tricky, and I know painters often have to return and touch up, No problem. I was fully confident, having found them highly professional before, that they would come back and fix this. They were responsive and did come back. However, it felt like their attitude was "Lady - you don't want to see any primer? We aren't coming back a 3rd time, so it's going on thick." Now all the retouched areas have obviously much thicker paint, brush strokes, drips, etc. We opened the french doors last week, and the inside trim of one door was painted, one just primed. I will go paint that myself. It felt like it was a tedious job, and the painters lost their eye for detail and were careless. However, we paid them thousands of dollars for this one room, so I was expecting more care. I did not expect to be cleaning navy paint off my floor, painting forgotten areas myself, and having to live with dried drips of paint down the walls. Hire with caution - my finding is that, while capable of excellent work, they can fall short.

They were fabulous and beyond words. It was great and they were the best I have ever used. They are competitively priced. The cleanup was immaculate. They sent a large crew out to do the job and  they were very professional.

We used Dutch Masters painting to have the interior first floor of our home painted. We moved in to this home in early May, and one of the first things my wife wanted to do was have the public areas painted. Because we had several vaulted spaces, I was not averse to hiring someone to do the painting. Between the foyer, back stairwell, vaulted family room and sunroom, we would definitely get our money's worth having someone else do the work.
We used this painter based on a recommendation from a decorator. I did shop around with several other good painters, and the prices were all within a couple thousands dollars of each other, so we felt the prices were reasonable.
I liked that Harry, the owner, gave us a very detailed estimate. For each room, he gave us a bid for the walls, trim, and ceiling. He told us we could pick and choose. We could pick which rooms we wanted painted and then also pick which parts (wall, ceiling, trim) to have painted. That made it much easier as there were a couple of rooms that we didn't need to do the trim, and we wanted to keep the wall treatment in the dining room.
I scheduled the painting date with Harry, and they were scheduled about three weeks out. He indicated they'd need a 1/2 to 1 day to prep and 2 - 3 days to paint. On the prep day, Harry called early and indicated he could send extra guys over to help with the prep work because they couldn't work outside due to rain.
Dutch Masters does a full soup to nuts operation. We didn't need to move anything. The crew moved all of the books off of the book cases, moved all the furniture, and removed all picture hangers. We did ask them NOT to put the books back because we wanted to sort through them (they were left by the previous owners). The only things I removed were the toilet and pedestal sink in the powder room as we were going to replace these items.
The crew had to remove wall paper in the powder room and master bath, and they were able to remove it with ease (thanks to the fact that was installed properly with sizing). The day the painting started, about 10 guys showed up on time at 7:30 AM. They set to work, and I didn't need to give them any direction at all as the supervisor from Dutch Masters was there to let them know what to paint and what colors to use.
The crew was very polite, and at lunch time, the supervisor asked if the crew could watch The World Cup on our family room TV. We had no problem with that at all. The crew was very clean, and at the end of each day, they asked us what we wanted set back up and uncovered so we could use it overnight.
The crew showed up on time each day and worked throughout the day to get all of the first floor rooms painted. We had almost all of the first floor painted and the second floor hall painted. There were a number of built in bookcases, and the crew removed the shelves to paint them separately. We also had them paint the cabinets we had in our sunroom. The trim painting is simply beautiful. They painted so many parts of the trim that I had not expected to be included, such as balusters on the stairs, grids on the windows, our fireplace mantle, and even the backs of the cabinet doors. They did a very thorough job, and considering all of the rooms painted, I feel very good about the price. I am always impressed with painters who don't have to tape off and are able to paint trim so well you see no brush strokes at all. I'll try to attach photos as well.
I will definitely use Dutch Masters again, and I've already asked them for an estimate to have the exterior of our home painted.

They were excellent and professional. The gentlemen that owns the business was on site in and out quite a bit making sure that everything was done properly. He helped me pick a couple of colors that I hadn't already picked out.

Again, didn't prep the walls at all and should have for a lasting quality job.

I found them through the company that installed my hardwood floor. When we were picking out colors with the individual who is professionally trained in both colors and chemistry and is an expert, we asked about painters and I found two or three names. I found that Dutch Masters had also done painting at the new building at our church. I asked the guy in charge of the facility and he told me his experience with them was great. It was a good quote so we used them. They did such a good job that we used them for the inside and the outside. When we redo the upstairs, we will be using them for the painting up there. I don't remember how much it cost me for the painting but having gotten three or four quotes, their price was competitive. There are other good painters that might come in and do the job with one or two guys and spend four or five days painting. Dutch Masters will put a crew and it's the same crew for painting the outside and the inside. There will be about eight of them and they will go through your house like a hurricane. They move everything, they take care of everything, they paint everything, and they put everything back that you want. But it's a busy time as opposed to a leisurely time. They have two or three guys that specialize, one in base boards and the other in walls. One guy will be ripping off wallpaper and another guy will be painting in the other room. You have got your own little list of things to do that you want to make sure get done, and as you follow them around you find that they are doing them before you can ask them to do them. They even go a little extra. When they were painting the outside in the garage, the sill in the door to the outside had rotted. The guy ran off and got a couple of pieces of wood and he repaired the sill at no extra charge. He just did it while they were painting out there. That's the type of thing that you want and really look forward to. It only takes about three days to recover after they finish their job. I will call them back in if I have any other work. They stand well behind their product. I could call them today and tell them I have a problem and they will be down here to fix it tomorrow.

It went wonderfully. The crew was waiting at the house on the day of closing, waiting word that they could begin work. At the end of the day, all materials were cleaned and stowed overnight. They completed the work the next day. In addition, they did cut-in work around each window and on top of the crown molding that we had not discussed - all as a value added prop - for no extra charge. The price was not a bargain, but it was fair. When we discovered a section of the baseboards that had not been done a couple of days later, a crew was at the house the next day to remedy the situation. Highly professional team. I would call them first for all my painting needs now.

I was able to see some of his work before I hired him. He gave me an estimate. He was able to do that the same day. He told me where to get the paint colors. They did such a fabulous job with the paint. What a great experience. His crew was wonderful and they sent enough men to get the work done quickly.

Outstanding. The crew of 10 showed up at 8:00 A.M. and were done by 5:00 P.M. I had a list of prep work concern to go over with the boss, but they were on it faster than I could review it. House looks great and the quality of work was really good.

Harry and his crew were fabulous! The estimate was quick, and explained in full detail what he thought needed to be done and why. Dutch Masters' price was very competitive. (I also got estimates from two other Angie companies). He was able to schedule the work when it would be convenient for me, and was willing to coordinate with other work I was having done on my house. He pays great attention to detail, has a great crew, and also made several suggestions that saved me some money. The house looks great, I was thrilled with the communication and customer service I received, would highly recommend this company. Harry's extensive experience and professionalism were obvious from start to finish. He has a good eye for color and style, and is willing to work with his customers to be sure that everything is done to their satisfaction. He came back daily to check on the day's work, and to fill me in on what was happening. Very conscientious, it was a pleasure to work with him!

EXCELLENT AND RELIABLE, BUT PRICEY. I THINK THAT MAYBE HE KNEW I WAS IN A RUSH TO GET IT DONE AND TOOK A LITTLE BIT OF AN ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION. PERHAPS IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE BECAUSE HE WAS PAINTING DARK COLORS THAT TAKES TWO COATS. MAYBE THAT TAKES MORE TIME. HE IS A NICE GUY, I WOULD TRUST HIM IN MY HOUSE ALONE. HIS VAN IS NEW AND HIS EQUIPMENT IS WELL MAINTAINED AND PROFESSIONAL LOOKING.
