ABSOLUTE BEST VET I HAVE EVER SEEN. I have been going to Dr. Smith & Dr. Dawkins for years now. We have 2 great Danes and a mix and he has provided exceptional care for all of them. He has seen us through emergencies, preventative visits, and surgeries. We feel he has saved our babies lives on numerous occasions! He is extremely smart and a talented surgeon with years of emergency practice experience. I drive all the way to Roswell from N. Ga and it is worth it.

Dr. Marcus Smith examined her and determined that she has cancer in one digit of her paw. We were given several treatment options which we are currently following. This has been a traumatic time for Rijker, and for us and Dr. Smith, Jason and all of the staff have been extremely compassionate and worked closely with us on her treatment plan. Dr. Smith is a great diagnostician who really cares about his patients and their "parents". You will not find a better vet to take care of your "babies". One word description "AWESOME".

I really like Dr. Mark. Prices are much more affordable than other bigger vets offices. They always call (vet and staff) after the visit to make sure my dog is OK, and will quickly respond to emails. They also price their heartwork and flea medicines very competitively with online stores. Highly recommend!

"Thank you for the recommendation. Communication is key in patient care and something we take very seriously at CAC. Modern technology, such as social media and email have enabled us to take this communication to the next level. Thanks again for the great review. Take Care. -Dr. Smith"

The staff is wonderful, and Dr. Morton is a kind compassionate vet who explained everything they were doing to our dog in the back. I am very pleased to say Chattahoochee Animal Clinic is our vet. I appreciated the followup call on her senior bloodwork.

Just received a follow up call this morning to my new puppy's first visit yesterday. I have never received this type of service from a vet before. The Dr spent time with my husband to explain all the care and expectations since this is our first dog (I have been a cat owner in the past). We were very impressed with his patience and his genuine care for animals. My husband also told me the entire staff was so friendly and helpful. Not to mention we got an appointment the same day we called. I went to this vet because I saw other testimonials on the web (in addition to Angie's list) which were glowing and I can say we had a similar experience so far.

I have used this vet for both my cat and dog. At first I thought that they were good, but my opinion has changed. The vet is nice enough and seems to care. But, the front office staff seems to want to squeeze every dollar out of you. They will not release a perscription for heartworm meds to 1800petmeds without having you actually come to their office to pick it up in person, this is done to make it difficult and so you will buy it from them instead (borderline illegal and definitely unethical). In the past with my cat, they would not let me hold or touch him during the exam (they said due to their lawyer advising them of that), and they told me that they had to give him anestesia in order for them to do the exam. The price quoted by the doctor for the anestesia was about half of what the actual charge ended up being. I had to call and argue with them to get the charge down. I gave them multiple chances with different animals....who needs this hassle. I am going to a different vet.

"I am writing you today to clarify and respond personally to your comments. I've also attached the latest bulletin from the FDA regarding all online veterinary pharmacies as documentation to your comments on PetMeds. (http://www.fda.gov/downloads/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm115432.pdf) I would also suggest you confirm with the State of Georgia Board of Veterinary Medicine (1-478-207-2440) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Insurance Group (1-800-207-2440) in regards to your comments on PetMeds and the restrictions of clients assisting in their pet's exams. Online Pharmacies: As we've documented and explained to you on two separate occasions, veterinarians have been warned and instructed not to engage in any way with any veterinary online pharmacy since none of these pharmacies purchase their prescription products through legal channels. In fact, as you'll read it is illegal to sell or purchase prescription medications from outside the U.S. In each and every case, these online pharmacies purchase their prescription medications outside of the US or illegally from unscrupulous veterinarians around the globe. In fact, a high percentage of these drugs are out of date and repackaged, counterfeit, or not drugs at all. This year alone we have treated 3 dogs with Heartworms that were using heartworm preventatives from these online pharmacies. None of these three clients received any support from the manufacturers of the product or the online pharmacy, even though the pharmacies claim they guarantee their products. So, in the effort to protect our clients and patients, we offer either a competitive price on the products we carry or a written prescription for those who still choose to buy online. As there are too many products for us to carry, we have chosen to carry the best products with the best prices for our clients. Your comment that we intentionally "make it difficult so you will buy from them instead (borderline illegal and definitely unethical)" is unfortunately incorrect and misdirected. Licensed Veterinarians are the only legal channel currently for clients to purchase heartworm preventative. As consumers, we (veterinarians) can't wait until this changes and pharmacies are allowed to carry these and the other veterinary only medications. None of us went 8 years or longer to school to sell drugs. We are trained in medicine and surgery, not sales. Clients assisting Veterinarians: The AVMA, Georgia State Board of Veterinarians, and the AVMA GHLIT (Insurance Group) have cautioned all veterinarians against clients assisting veterinarians. The short story is that if your animal hurt you in any way and you decided to sue your veterinarian, our insurers consistently refuse to cover such incidents. Because of the threat of lack of coverage, veterinarians have all been cautioned and advised to not allow owners/clients to assist in any way with their animals. I personally told you this and commented that this came about from the many attorneys that have found this scenario to be lucrative for them. Again, your comment and accusation that we told you this so we could anesthetize your pet is incorrect and misdirected. We offer a below cost option for fractious, stressed, or difficult cats so that they are not traumatized by the procedures we often have to perform. In your case, the receptionist erroneously coded the computer for a surgical anesthetic in addition to the below cost option. You called and notified us of the error and we immediately removed the charge and immediately credited your credit card. So, again your comments are both incorrect and misdirected. Member, at this point it's clear that you see the glass half empty and see our efforts and diligence as negative even after our attempts to explain things. I'm told we've sent your records to you and feel that is the best solution. We wish you the best and happy new year Dr. Andy Morton"
