Harbin's Septic & Drain Service

Mr Harbin (the son) came to the house promptly after calling to look at the exposed septic tank and advised that he would need to have it pumped and cleaned and then replace the "T" connection coming out of the tank that had broken.    He advised that he would need to do the job the next day since he was to begin another job the day following that.   We had prior committments and could not be here, so we had a family member come to the house so that he could do the work.   He arrived at approx 10:00 to start.   I received a call from the family member at approx 3:30 to advise that he had "finished" the job but he told her to have us to call him because he could not disconnect the additional lines and would have to return to cap them off in our basement at a later date.    I did call him the following weekend and he advised that he would return on 6/11 to complete the job.    He did not show up to do the work.    Due to medical issues, we were unable to contact him for follow-up.    On 7/27/13, we discovered that water/sewage is seeping up through the ground in our backyard at the top of the septic tank.    On July 29 I called the number on the business card that was  left and reached Mr. Harbin (the father).   He advised that his son had done the job and gave me a number to reach him.   I called that number and talked briefly to him.   He advised that he was in the middle of a job and would call me back asap.    I waited approx 4 hours for the callback and when I did not receive one, I called him again.   The call went to voicemail and I left a message with two different phone numbers where I could be reached.    I continued to try to reach him through the afternoon without success.  On July 30, I again called Mr. Harbin (the father) and he advised at that time  that his son had taken over the business, but that he would try to reach him to see why he had not called me back.   Since the work was done and covered up by the time we returned home, I  am not sure if it was done properly or not.   I feel that not returning a customer's call is a very unprofessional way of doing business.    I am out $1,000  and still basically have the same problem that I started with.
