Joe came in last week to to help fix a bit of a mess I got myself in with a DIY of dry-walling in an air vent in the spare bedroom closet. Originally Malone heating and air butched a job and I was in dire need of some help. Although Joe isn't always exactly on time I've used him twice now and felt the need to write a review (that I usually don't) to attest to his good work. He showed up about 30 minutes late the first day which is reasonable. He got to work redoing a shotty framing job (that was above what I asked), then proceeded to tape and mud the project. The second day he was just over an hour late but considering how quickly he fit me into his schedule I can't complain. He proceeded to apply a second coat of mud then finish some shelving and supports. All and all I'm quite happy. The pricing was fair if not a bit cheaper than I would have expected. I have some more jobs in mind in the future and myself being picky would not hesitate to hire him. Before/after picture

The best advice I can give anyone regarding this contractor is DON'T HIRE HIM!  This was definitely the worst remodel experience in my life. First and foremost, he is the most unprofessional contractor I have ever dealt with. He demanded payment each week of the project. My husband was gullible enough to insist we pay him as requested, but everyone knows that a reputable contractor will not ask for payment until job completion. Mr. Crumley and crew were NEVER on time. We never knew when they would show up or leave. He would even show up at 8 or 9 at night wanting to work. Anytime you pointed out something that needed to be fixed, he would get offended and blame it on the fact that something in the room wasn't level or square. There is not one consistently even grout line in my floor, which is extremely unlevel despite the fact that he installed new subfloor & backer board. Obviously, he did not use leveling compound between them.. The grout lines in my tile floor  range in width from 1/8" to 3/4" - a significant difference. There is not one clean paint line in the room. He blamed this on the walls being "wavy", but since he installed them, this was an extra lame excuse! Besides, I had painted that kitchen previously, and there weren't wavy paint lines & paint crossover when I, an amateur, did my own painting. I have found quite a bit of blue paint on my brand new white cabinets and my brand new solid surface countertop as well. Every single corner in the kitchen has drywall tape lines visible through the paint and are very "wrinkled" and rough. There is white paint on my den wall around the door frame that he replaced that is up to 1/2" wide!
Towards the end of the project, he was supposed to be here on a Saturday morning. When he had not arrived by 11 AM, I called to see when he would arrive. He said he wasn't planning on working on my job that day but was in the neighborhood & would stop by. He entered my home, without knocking, and proceeded to yell at me! (my daughter in law witnessed the entire episode) and chew me out for questioning him. Needless to say, I wanted him fired on the spot, but my husband wanted to let him finish because we were so near the end. Despite my protests, we agreed to let him finish. When we had him come back to fix what was wrong, he griped the entire time he was here that he had other jobs he needed to be working on, he stayed for less than 1 hour (not completing anything) and left. On his last day here, after being here about 20 minutes,  he took a personal call outside, stuck his head in the door and said he had to leave to meet his son at the emergency room with his granddaughter. We haven't seen him since nor will he return our phone calls. I highly advise AGAINST hiring this man, but if you do, DO NOT pay him until the job is completed to your satisfaction. Otherwise, I feel confident your experience will be as bad as ours was. I will post pictures of the poor workmanship in the very near future. I need a stronger flash to combat the shadows in the corners so you can really see just how bad they look.
On a side note, we followed Mr. Crumley's recommendation to use Fred Lloyd Electrical to do the re-wiring of the kitchen. Even though a schematic of the kitchen layout was nailed to the wall the entire time the electrician was doing his work, he did not place a single outlet where it needed to be, then lied and said that 1) we had told them to put them there and 2) that code required them to be where they are. I checked the code, and what we were told was not true. My refrigerator is still not on a dedicated appliance circuit, but there is a dedicated appliance circuit on a blank wall. Three outlets were in the wrong place and because of this, our built in microwave and range could not be installed correctly.  We had the original electrician come back to move them, but after he moved them  they were still in the wrong locations so Mr. Crumley took it upon himself to move them to the correct location.

UPDATE: When Joe and his crew left, they did not leave ANY of the
leftover paint for us to use for touch-ups even though we paid him for
the materials. I have called and emailed him SEVERAL times and have not
gotten ANY type of response back.

Also, the closer we look at the paint job that was done, their trim work
leaves much to be desired. Pretty much all along the baseboards you
can see the original colors of the walls.

They did a decent job, but DO NOT EXPECT ANY HELP for issues after his
truck pulls off the job. Sadly I can't recommend Joe due to these
issues.

We found them on Angie’s List. They were definitely excellent. They worked around our schedule. Our closing day got pushed several times, they were able to accommodate us every time, and get in the next day. Even though we had two to three days’ notice of closing day, they came in and got it done, They started last Tuesday, and they got it finished today, Monday.

Once the work was started the job was finished in two days. Quality was excellent. Communication was excellent. I have asked him for an estimate to repair roof damage from a fallen tree.

The job took much longer than expected, but the work was exceptional. Though we were not happy with the additional 3 weeks it took to complete, the quality was so good that we would use Joe again!

The house we purchased had some settling issues such as slightly gaping seams, visible nail/screw heads, poor mudding/sanding in the living room, and a patchy paint job (seller had repaired nail holes, but the paint wasn't an exact match). The living room/entry/stair area have 23 ft. ceilings, and we didn't feel we could paint that high ourselves. Because we'd just moved from Idaho, we didn't know any local painters. So, we joined Angie's List, and selected three to bid the job. Crumley Painting was the middle bidder, but he had much more than just painting experience. We felt he could do a better job with the repairs than the other two. He started the day after we moved in, and he repaired all the sheet-rock problems first. Then he and his crew primed and painted the big room and the stairwell/entry. They were very professional (no swearing or playing of loud rap music). They cleaned up all their trash and took it away with them (which was extra thoughtful since we hadn't established garbage service yet at that time). They sought my preference immediately whenever an issue arose (such as the paint turning out to be much more yellow than the sample seemed). They finished on time and cleaned up after themselves, even damp-mopping the hardwood floor. The project took three days. I am very happy with their work and will use them again if we need to. We usually do our own painting and don't like to pay for things we can do ourselves. However, we felt our money was well spent in this case, and I even picked up a few "tricks" while watching them that I will use on my next painting project. Every error in the walls was noticeable before, now the walls of my living room are gorgeous!

They were able to respond to us with next day service which was very important to us since our original painter was not going to be able to start for two weeks. Joe came out and gave us a quote on Sunday and started on Monday. They were very professional and even offered some great recommendations (like painting the living room ceiling). Their work was very well done and they even through in a few extras like patching a corner of the master bath wall. I was definitely satisfied with their work and would hire them again. As a matter of fact, some of our family members are probably going to use them at their homes.

Went well with interior of house. Very quality painter by Mr. Crumley himself. Mr. Crumley used helpers to do the deck and screened-in porch. The only problem was that he used an oil stain versus a semitransparent stain.

Mr. Crumley was hired to complete the stairwell painting started by another contractor who was unable to complete the job and we had already paid the initial contractor. He had to reprep the walls, they were initially wallpapered. He then painted the stairwell and after drying a few imperfections were still quite visible. He came back, repreped and repainted the stairwell at no extra cost to us and did a very satisfactory job!
