Pool Construction and Installation
$5,000
Mr. Clonts came out and met with me on May 25, 2012 to price job and I paid for the liner up front since it was a special order.  Balance to be paid upon completion of work.  He was to begin work on June 4, 2012.  We (my husband and myself) both attempted to contact Mr. Clonts to find out when they would be here and he would never answer the phone during business hours or after hours.  He would call 2 or three days later to say he was really busy but would be there on another date.  He would then show up a day after that date to do what he said he would do but would only do partial work.  For example: He came out over a week after June 4, 2012 to drain the pool.  He came out @ days after that to remove the old liner and install the new one and start running water into the pool.  He then waited another week before returning to cut the holes in the liner for the spouts.  Then 2 days later for the light and basket inserts.  He then returned 2 weeks later the install the pump and chlorinating system and used our existing piping and our existing filtering system.  I had to call him back after about 6 attempts he finally returned my call because he quoted replacing everything with new equipment.  He charged me $400 more saying he did not quote a new filtering system, although that was the main thing we were replacing because it wasnt working correctly to begin with.
The chlorinating system did not work at installation and still doesn't.  He said he would re-order a new unit and replace and has not.  The piping he installed from the chlorinator to the filter and pump all leaked and he patched it with a tacky blue epoxy on white piping rather than glueing it in correctly and has still not repaired it either.
I reported him to the Better Business Bureau but they nor he has done anything to date (5-19-13).
I woud not recommend this contractor to anyone - ever.  He lied over and over again and the installation of the faulty equipment was finally completed on 6-29-12 - (4 weeks later than scheduled) and is still incomplete.  He has since disconnected his phone number and did not return any of our calls up to the date of disconnect.
