Provider switched out our controller for our well. I asked before he did it what the cost for the part would be. He said he didn't know the cost of the part.. It was a Grundfos CU 301 Variable Speed Controller. This piece normally sells for $450 although it has a higher list price, the regular price that people pay is around $400-$450, although on the internet it can be purchased for $200-$300. In addition to service charge and labor for an hour for $175, he then charged $850 for the part, claiming that I needed it and he had it on his truck so he is entitled to charge extra premium for it regardless of what it cost him. He then yelled at me on the phone when I called him to ask about it. We paid the $1093 bill because he said he'd come rip it out if I wanted (which I at first was going to do, but then was worried he'd damage our system), but I think his less than honest business practices should be noted.
