Alan's Garbage Service

Back in February (it is now April), along with other trash bags, we put out a box of old VHS tapes. The box was not picked up, nor was any other trash picked up. They have not made a trash pick-up since then, despite us being paid up through the end of April. Numerous calls made to them, but no one ever answers the phone. We did receive one voicemail message back from Alan saying that the box of tapes was too heavy and did not meet their guidelines. That's fine, I understand, but why was this not communicated to us, and why no trash pick-up since then??? Numerous voicemails that I have left since then have gone unanswered. Bottom line: We have been ripped off by a company that has taken our payment and provided no services for over a month. The original owner (Quentin) must be rolling in his grave seeing what Alan has done to the Pickelsimer reputation.

I am looking for someone else,.

This is an old school family business. No website, all snail mail; so no website, no email, not even voicemail. If they don't answer-they don't answer; you call back. This won't be a big deal for most customers, but it does mean that they are not being rated any higher than a 'C'. I've had instances where I wanted to make changes, ask on policy or understand why they didn't pick up. Maybe they answer the phone that day, maybe they won't. They are nice people, but it's time to modernize. (Maybe at least buy an answering machine.)
