ARCTIC AIR HEATING & COOLING

The owners nephew failed to properly install a new a/c unit. Cooling work but the heating didn't. Also their were nuts and bolts missing from in the front of the the unit.

See above. They arrived on time--checked the unit from top to bottom--put new filters in and were gone....painless.

Both my husband and I were impressed with Artic Air. We had a new home constructed for us in 2006. The builder had subcontrators who did a horrible job in installing the duct work. As a result our HVAC unit, in particular the air conditioning, never worked properly after the second year. Each year we had to have service calls to replace coils, evaporators, etc. Finally, this year, we could not get the air conditioning unit to cool below 78 degrees without freezing up. After what was one of the hottest summer's on record, in June we decided that we had had enough of the heat and the malfunctioning, and began contacting HVAC companies for an inspection and hopefully a replacement of our failing system.
In total we had four companies come to our home and give us an inspection and a estimate of the cost for: rerunning all of the existing duct work (all agreed that was probably our biggest and most contributatory issue that caused the failure of our existing system), and the entire HVAC system. There were a couple of things that were important to us now that we were motivated by the sweltering Savannah, GA heat and our own discomfort to move ahead with total replacement:
1. That the job not have an extensive install period where we would really suffer without air conditioning.
2. That we not purchase the same brand unit that we originally had, which we also believe contributed to such a short lived
system.
3. That the work being done not end us up in the same unenviable place that we currently found ourselves with four firms telling
us what a horrible job the original installation was.
We chose Artic Air for the following reasons:
1. They are very responsive.
2. The owner (not a sales person for the firm who would not directly involved in the installation or after-care) met with us.
3. The installation time was set at two days and it was done in what really amounted to about 12 hours.
4. The week before and the days of the installation they provided us with a window unit so that we could stay in our home
versus needing to go to a motel.
5. The price was reasonable and the installation was flawless.
We would recommend this firm to anyone. They do exceptional work.
