Westmoreland and Slappey Animal Hospital

Doctor Westmoreland was just wonderful and a really nice man! He was very thorough with his exam as it was not obvious what was wrong. My cat was just as calm as could be which speaks to his demeanor, even with him manipulating his joints. He was able to detect the problem without costly X-rays. Even his dog who snuck in the room was wonderful. I have had many animals over the years and been to many Veterinarians and by far Doctor Westmoreland is the finest I have ever been to. He is very caring. I highly recommend him.

The service went fine. They treated the cat fine. Everybody was fine and helpful. They are a little pricey. I have just been there once or twice to get shots, and it has been pretty easy to get in.

I took Major there for an examination, vaccinations, and a health certificate so he could go on a transport to his new home in New Jersey. Dr. Westmoreland's examination revealed that Major had a bone chip in his right knee joint and hot spots underneath his very thick and long fur. I asked for a bath and whether they would perform grooming services so that Major could be more comfortable.  Though they don't do grooming, Major got a beautifully done groom when hot spots were discovered on his tail--the groom extended to his neck "ruff" and a puff left at the end of his tail.  Major was prescribed medication to help with his hot spots and alleviate the pain and swelling in his knee.  Our visit to Westmoreland turned out beautifully, and I am so grateful for all that was done.  I love Westmoreland & Slappey Animal Hospital and will definitely go to them in the future!   

On 9/27/13 around 7:30pm my cocker spaniel was hit by a car. I called the office number and talked to the answering service. In less than 10 minutes Doctor Slappey returned my call and asked about the situation. Within 35 minutes my pup was at the vets office being examined. Doctor Slappey took ex-rays, showed them to us then explained in detail what options we had.
My neighbors that came to help me out were impressed at how quickly the response time was.
Back in August a friend of mine commented that she would like to change vets so I invited her to come with me to Westmoreland-Slappey for my dogs' appointment. She commented on how open and happy all the staff was and she also liked how when the vet came into the exam room he said hello to us then immediately started talking to my dog and petting him. She said her vet never acted like that with her animals. She also stated she would be changing vets.

We've been to his office twice. Our first visit we just needed to get a weight on our dog so we would know which heart worm med he needed. We literally waited an hour just to get a weight which was not needed. The waiting room was not full and everyone was going ahead of us it seemed. Our second visit we didnt wait at all and we loved the vet we saw. My dog is timid around males. So, the Dr chose to do his check up right on the floor under the table practically.

Dr. Westmoreland is my chosen vet to care for my 3 senior cats. They each have their own healthcare issues, and he is very thorough. On my first visit, I was very impressed with how much time he spent with me and my kitty, going over various issues and treatments. He helped where other vets had said and quot;she's old; oh well...and quot; He is very caring and kind. He is willing to try different treatments and make suggestions. He definitely helped extend my oldest kitty's life and made it a more comfortable time for her, and he was very compassionate and caring when it was time for her to move on as well. I highly recommend Dr. Westmoreland. The costs vary - sometimes feeling a bit high and sometimes quite reasonable or low - depending on the tests or treatment required. They also offer a military discount.

My dogs have been going here for several years and I trust them very much.

I went in to get a medication refill. Dr. Westmoreland is very caring for the animals and the owners. He is also very thorough.

Scott Westmoreland, Stuart Slappey, and John Hutchens --- provide professional and compassionate care. When we moved to the area, Dr. Westmoreland said he would care for our animals as if they were his own --- and he has lived up to that promise!
