Armstrong Construction

Was referred to Ray Armstrong by another contractor. I was told he does great work and can do anything. I am under a time constraint and so I consider responsiveness and punctuality an important factor for this particular project. Normally I am much more relaxed. I left Mr Armstrong a message to contact me to perform an estimate on some baseboard and trim work. He called me back saying that he could come over around 6PM. However at 7PM I get a call from him saying he was behind schedule and could still come by tonight. Fine. So he arrived around 7:30 PM.He was friendly (even entertained my little boy for a few minutes). Took notes and measurements. And was told how I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with another contractor on lack of responsiveness. He said he understood and would call the next day with a quote. Next day rolled around. No call. Day after came around and no call. So I went to Lowe's at 7PM to buy the tools and materials to do the project myself. While at Lowe's in the checkout line, I get a call from him saying he had the quote for me. -- I told him I'd call him back in a couple of hours. However I don't plan to. Look. I'm probably being too demanding. And he probably does fantastic work. I will try him later on projects that don't require strict time frames. However, if I'm upfront with you and tell you I need the work done ASAP and you say you are giving me a quote the next day, you had better honor your word. Or at least call me on time and let me know you need just a bit more time to complete the quote. Especially after I point out how a prior contractor dropped the ball this exact same way.
