The experience was not very good. The repair man was punctual and he showed good manners. He was suppose to fix it by putting in a new thermostat and redo some wiring. I went to Home Depot to buy a new thermostat because they have been very good in the past. He told me that it would not work. He placed in one of their thermostats.
The cost was $225.00 which was higher than I had paid for my other air conditioning service. I paid it with my debit card over the phone.
I did mentioned that I had to get this done as soon as possible because I needed to get to work. He also mentioned that he did not know how much time he had since this job was taking longer than planned. He also needed to help another worker with a big job where there was thirty air conditioners. He called someone to get permission to stay to finish the job because I was not very happy about him leaving until the job was done.
Five days later on a Friday evening my air was not working and I was not pleased and upset. I called the dispatcher and told her that I needed to have someone come out. She scheduled an appointment the next day at 7:30. He was there on time- the same man.
I let him know that I not was not pleased that it was not fixed. I did not shout at him or yell. He broke the planter next to the door when he opened the door and placed dirt all over the floor with a broken pot. I did not make him clean it up or get upset because I thought it was an accident. Then he finally told me I had to have a new coil because there was a leak. He informed me that they did not have it in stock. I asked him how much it was for the coil. -$150.00. This was what I was told. I asked him what am I suppose to do for air. He told me to put in radiant. I said yes due to the fact I thought it would be for a few days. Then he have me the bill for $150. I was shocked and told him would not pay that. He told me that he done something for me by not charging the diagnostic fee of $85.00 I asked him why he was telling me that when he should have done that on Monday. Here is the clincher that made very upset-HE TOLD THAT I HAD RUN HIM OUT OF MY HOUSE ON THAT DAY. Totally false and untrue. I refused to pay the bill at that time.
I called the dispatcher and complained and told her why I was not paying the bill. She just informed me that they would not service the coil. I was fine with that and I still am.
I called several other companies and had another man come and look at the situation. He told the freeze on is $39.00 a pound and t
that was the first price. I told him I need to pay the bill. He also told me the coil would be $900.00 to 1300.00 . No one mentioned that price that morning.
I called the dispatcher that afternoon to inform her that I would pay the bill. She told me I had mistreated her service man- a total lie and that they would not service my air conditioning. I told her that I did not want them to service my air, but I still needed to pay that bill.
Therefore, I will be sending one a money order to the company on Monday to the person mentioned here. I do not want this company to service any more for me due to the fact I will not have my integrity insulted.
Air Conditioning Services installed a 4 ton Trane Heat Pump at my residence in June, 2010. On Nov. 11, 2014, ACS came out to diagnosis why it was not working and found the blower wheel detached from the housing. The trip charge was $85.00. We were told they would call with a quote for the repair. The unit was still under warranty, but the labor was not. ACS called a week later and told me the warranty part (blower wheel) was $369.00 and the trip charge was $85.00. It was repaired Nov. 25, 2014. The bill presented was broken down into Quantity:1, Item/Part Description: Blower Wheel Squirrel Cage and Price: $369.00. Then $85.00 was written next to a hand written: from first trip. The repair took less than an hour.
My husband was told to call the office for an explanation of the bill.
I called and was told the bill was $454.00 for labor. She stated we had been told the and quot;warranty part was $369.00and quot; and we had agreed to it. I stated a warranty part was paid by the warranty but she said this was strictly for labor according to their book of prices.
I called 3 companies , gave them the model and serial number of the unit and requested a quote. The total charge, including the part, labor and trip charge, was as follows: Reliable was $315., Forsyth Appliance was $320,. and Scott Eckerly Heating and Air was $200. According to Global Industries and one additional repairman, the part is well under $100.00.
I called ACS back with this information and was told the owner said give us a 10% discount.
I hired ACS in 2010 to install 3 heat pumps, even though their quote was the highest. They were the company who said they could do dual thermastats for an upstairs and downstairs room. The work was almost completed when they told me they could not do it.
The basic problem with ACS is their rates are extremely high and they appear to say anything to get the job. Read the fine print and listen for the meaning of what they say. Ask questions! After the job, there is no follow--up. I do not recommend this company.
I made a number of phone calls, but ACS was the only company that agreed to come out right away.
Dave was cool and professional. He climbed into the attic, located the problem, and fixed it right away, but that's not the end of the story.
A few days later, we noticed water damage on the ceiling, as it appeared the AC was leaking. Once again, ACS sent David out right away. He located a cracked pipe. It was a subtle crack, and would not have been noticed on the first inspection. Also, it was unrelated to the first repair. It only became evident once the AC had been working properly for a while. But, David felt bad for us, fixed the problem and, guess what.... No charge!
We'll be sure to use ACS for all our heating and AC needs in the future, and we enthusiastically recommend them for their fine work and tremendous integrity.
Even though it was Sunday, the service man was timely in his response.
