WHIMSICAL EXPRESSIONS

Leigh & Gary Sherron were the owners of Whimsical Expressions, Inc. when I had my work done on November 13, 2008.
Leigh's son Chris Tanner helped her faux paint & clear coat my kitchen cabinets.  Gary did the bead board work.  The faux paint immediately started rubbing off around the kitchen cabinet drawer pulls and on the corner cabinet in the kitchen.  Chris came out once and tried to fix the problem but it has continued to rub off around the drawer pulls.
I later found out that since my cabinets are not wood, this type of painting should not be done because it will not adhere to the material my cabinets are made of.  They should have known and advised me against it because I certainly wouldn't have wasted my money if I had known this.
I called a third time and spoke with Chris Tanner and made an appointment for him to come out and look at them again to see if something could be done.  He didn't show up and never returned my repeated phone calls to him even after I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau.  I think Chris is the new owner of the business.
My cabinet drawer pulls still look terrible around each pull where the paint has rubbed off.  I have too much money invested in this job to have it done over by a more professional company.
It was a very disappointing experience.

Our experience was miserable.  They were never on time.  The owner, Mr. Tanner, wouldn't show up to oversee his crew who didn't know what to do most of the days they were here.  They didn't finish painting one single room to completion throughout the house. They caused a lot of unnecessary, extraneous damage to our flooring and other areas of the house.
The list is endless as to the havoc they created.  We tried to sue them for damages through their bogus insurance company who sent out a representative to look over the damage.  He was horrified at what he saw.  But when their insurance supposedly questioned Mr. Tanner about the extent of damage and unfinished work, he simply denied our claim and his bogus insurance company chose to believe him despite all of the evidence that was there as proof.
I would NEVER use these people to work in my home.  Nor would I ever suggest anyone use them in the future - not even if that person was my worst enemy.  Mr. Tanner can deny this rating and my comments all he wants to, but there are quite a few other previous clients of his that I've talked to who have also had horrible experiences with him and Whimsical.  They just might not know that Whimsical is now on Angie's List so they can't comment about their negative experiences with that company.

This company really did a fantastic job of preparation before they begin painting. We had some tough hardware on the walls in both of our bathrooms and they had to take them down, patch up, and sand the holes. They did this perfectly. They were very punctual, didn t mind answering our questions, and the price was just right for the work they did.
