Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

BUYER BEWARE! Had a pipe leak within my wall. Caught it fairly early with minimum damage. The Roto Rooter rep Brian came out and inspected and said I needed water mitigation based off the moisture in my walls. When I say the leak wasn't that bad, it really wasn't! He stated that my insurance company would cover it all and that he deals with my particular company all the time and not to worry. I obviously was taken back by the cost of almost 4k! Fast forward, my insurance company are questioning duplicate charges and Roto-Rooter is saying I owe almost 3k or a lien will be placed on my property! This whole water mitigation is a scam and the salesman did not tell the truth. They should have picked up their fans a lot earlier than they did. I'm sure they were trying to milk all the money they could. Over 5k for a bunch of fans in my home. I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE TO THIS PLACE! Contacting my lawyer and will have my day in court if necessary. BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS IF YOU ASK ME!

It went well. It turned out to be a nail that had somehow been driven into the wall and punctured the pipe.

It's working just fine, I assume that it will continue to be okay. The guy who came was very nice, but he's still learning, I asked him a master plumber who has a lot more experienced, he brought one and that plumber did most of the work. The price was a bit high but he gave me a discount because of the previous work that was not successful.

Labor day weekend and we had a toilet back up. Sewage all over our powder room and hallway floor. Worked on it through the day and finally called Roto Rooter at night. After spending time and working hard trying to clear the deain, the gentleman called for help. With lots if high tech instruments, the found where the problem was and how to fix it. Note that this was in the middle of the night on a holiday weekend. A big job, Roto Rooter completed it in a few days (after the weekend) including significant cleanup. They also helped with Insurance claims through the process.

The quoted price to do the job blew my mind.

It worked out well, they did a nice job. They had to use the light that goes under the ground, so it was more expensive. 

The price was pretty competitive, but expensive I think. There was time that he was late getting there, but he had an excuse he said. They sent somebody else that was on the other side of Atlanta, which was crazy. He did call and let me know. I tried to call to see where he was because I had a lot to do. Then they called back and he called. I think sometimes the people that are setting it up don't live in the same time. They could be in Chicago, and they don't know how far one place in Atlanta is from the other. 

I would use them again in the future, but hopefully I won't have to for awhile.

They did a real good job but their price was very high. The results were very good.

Their price was a little steep, but it was worth it.  He repaired something that was not working because it was not put in right.  They do excellent work and they are very thorough.  They were nice and cleaned up well.   I have only used them once, and so far they have impressed me, compared to the other people I have used.

We were very pleased with the cleaning crew from Roto Rooter who cleaned up our basement after a pipe backup.  They were on time, kept us informed of the status and next steps, picked up after themselves and closed the gate in our backyard when leaving for the day.  We have a dog that would quickly run away so this is really appreciated.  Shea Byrd was wonderful to work with!  He is fun and light hearted which made it a bit easier to work through this stressful situation.  He is knowledgeable in explaining the process and offered recommendations.  In addition he was empathetic of the situation and considerate of the reality that we were losing personal items.  He is also going above and beyond to help replace an item that was lost in the clean-up.  It is not often that I find a service provider that truly cares, and it is truly appreciated.  We would highly recommend Roto Rooter and working with Shea. 

Prior to the cleanup we worked with a plumber from Roto Rooter who was also very helpful.  He offered options and made recommendations.  He was also empathetic of the situation we were in.  He did anything he could to make this a better situation and not waste money on extra procedures that may not be needed.  He put us in touch with the restoration and clean up group which stepped us through the process of what needed to be done.

When the pipe work was actually done this group did not provide the same level of service.  They performed the work but never checked in with us prior to leaving or told us the final issue found.  This was frustrating as we were anxious to know what was causing the problem and we needed this information to report to our insurance.

Dan, Tech 3407 called ahead and arrived promptly. Quickly diagnosed the problem and went to work. Very courteous and professional. Gave an estimate for future work. Recommend highly!

John S. was my technician. He arrived within the agreed-upon time frame. I showed him where the downspout extension was and said I wanted to have it unclogged so I wouldn't have to deal with my front doorway area flooding. He said he could unclog it for a cost of over $600, but that he recommended that instead I detach the extension from the downspout, seal the extension, and run another extension above ground.
I appreciate that he was upfront and honest that there was a less expensive way to solve my problem. He said he wouldn't even charge me a service call fee. So I greatly appreciate that.
He was a tad unprofessional, though, making a joke that I must want to hug him. I laughed along with it, but it felt weird. Also, he randomly pointed to the house next door to mine and asked if it was vacant because he was looking for another house. There is a family living there, so I said "No, someone lives there." I went on to say there may be houses for sale in the neighborhood and he could drive around and take a look. It just seemed odd that he would ask about my neighbors' house when there was no indication that the house wasn't occupied. He also gave me  his personal card in addition to the Roto-Rooter card, which also felt weird.

I woke up Sunday morning to water pouring out of the kitchen ceiling.  I called another plumber we had used in the past, only to find they no longer provide weekend services.  Frantically searching for another plumber, I found an advertisement for Roto-Rooter.  I called and was told they had a plumber working another job in my area and would send him to my house as soon as he finished up.  They provided the plumbers name in advance of him arriving and kept me apprised of his status every 30 - 45 minutes.
While waiting for the plumber to arrive, a member of Roto-Rooters water restoration group arrived and assessed the situation. He started some of the demo work needed to get rid of the damaged, water-logged sheet rock and brought in a dehumidifier to start the drying out process.
When the plumber (Mike McNamara #3310) arrived he assessed the situation and provided me with a detailed assessment of the work to be done along with a cost estimate.
I'm very pleased with the quality of the work done and level of professional displayed.  I will definitely call Roto-Rooter again when I need plumbing services and request Mike McNamara.
