Mike came when he said he would, several days after I called; the report arrived three days after the inspection. He is a pleasant man, obviously interested in his work. He said that experience had taught him that finding the exact route water is taking to get into a house is very difficult, that the best approach was to do everything possible to direct water away from the foundation. His report reflected that approach. After receiving the report, I asked him for recommendations of companies that could/would do that kind of work, and he gave me several names. When I had contractors give me a price on doing the work, I had the very specific description of the work to be done to show them and get a price on the individual components. It made that communication much more secure-feeling.
