This would not be my first contractor of choice for any project under $25K

It's through my insurance. My dishwasher, which was a GE, broke and flooded my living room. We didn't know it was doing that. So we had to have it all pulled up and of course, there was mold. We're way past it now and we're getting a new floor put in. They're the ones doing the insurance work. They have a really good rating on the end product. But, they're going to have to do a really good job to get an 'A' from me. They're just slow as molasses. They're going to have to come real high on the quality of putting the hardwood floor in. Then they have to put in the granite countertops because it messed up some of the cabinets in the kitchen as well. So, we had to take all that out. The people that came and took it out, did a fabulous job. So, it's just getting it put back in by Parker. So far they're just slow. Their quotes are way off. So I had to send my daughter information back and tell her, "Their quotes are off, this is not right." They're charging me more for my entryway than they are for the living room and the living room is twice the size of the entryway. Somebody can't do maths. I definitely would find somebody else.

They came and did the initial drying of my place from water damage. However, their pricing aon the replacement was outrageous. They provided an initial quote. Right before the work was to start they informed me that the quote they provided was actually off by $3200. At that point I got additional quotes and realized they were about $3k more than everyone else. They are just a rip off.

Perfect. They did a terrific job and were very responsive to inquiries and requests. They coordinated with my private insurance company. I would give them an A+ rating

I can't say anything bad about them. All of their crews are Hispanic. They usually have one person that speaks some English so it's difficult to get across what you want done when the only crew supervisor only speaks broken English. There was that interaction that I don't appreciate. I think it makes things more difficult and it takes longer to solve the problem. It has to go through 3 or 4 different mouths before somebody catches on. There were a lot of hand waving and people drawing pictures on the ground and stuff like that and I think that was kind of a waste of effort. The quality of the work done was good. I would definitely rate them a B. The supervisors were definitely A. They were extremely helpful to make sure things were done right and they came back 3 or 4 times just to make sure things were right. There were some issues with the roof decking. It wasn't quite right so they came back and fixed it and it's fine now. I think overall was A but some of the stuff was B. I think the price was outrageous. I find the price extremely high for what was done. The materials were fine but they had to redo things. I had to deal with a project manager, a site supervisor and a crew supervisor and all of them were really great people and really nice but the project manager has a lot on his plate. There was a real circus getting the roofing materials and it caused the project to slip at least 2 weeks or maybe 3. They don't have materials on hand so they had to order them. They ordered some that weren't available and that was the project manager's fault because wasn't apparently familiar enough. That was irritating 'cause that did take so much time. The actual people who did the work were excellent. The workers were just incredible. They really worked very hard. They wouldn't go home until dusk. The 2 site managers were very good people and very competent. They know how things were supposed to be put together. They were really good. The project manager was in charge of the materials and the overall scheduling of stuff and things kind of slipped through the crack with him sometimes. They're very good and very professional. I'm not comfortable with their pricing.

I requested Parker Young to come out and do an estimate for some repairs. I expected professional person from the construction field to come out and give me a fair estimate.  Instead, I got some kid named Tanner who really didn’t know a dam thing about construction.  The estimate was ridiculously  overpriced  and full of unnecessary work.  When I questioned it, he gave me every excused in the book.  Needless to say, the estimate had to be adjusted several times since I wasn’t going for all the unnecessary work ( and neither was my insurance company, who also laughed at him).
I had heard PY did good work so I tried to stay  with them.  But the unprofessionalism of this kid came out EVERYWHERE!  When I request information, it would take weeks, not days, for him to get back. To the point that I tried setting deadlines …”Can you have this to me by Friday?” He would agree to it and blow throw the date like it was nothing. Never apologizing  for missing the date. Not even acknowledging he missed that date.  I guess we all were expected to run on “Tanner Time!”
I finally requested to schedule the build, in the hopes this would be past off to site project manager and away from Tanner. That was two weeks ago and I haven’t heard from Tanner! So I have taken my estimate elsewhere.
My advice is that if they are sending you Tanner Chamblin to do the estimates, request someone else come out!!!! Or buy a HUGE bottle of Advil!

They rebuilt two rooms of my house.  They moved things out.  They cleaned things that were damaged in the storm like furniture and rugs.  Then they rebuilt the house.  We had two bedrooms that were damaged with contiguous hardwood floors.  They had re-do three rooms and a hall with hardwood floors.  They painted, they roofed, and they did the gutters.  They did $50000 worth of work.  I can just give them wavier dues.  They were very polite , they were on time, they stayed on schedule, finished on time, worked with us through the holidays, moved all the stuff out, moved all the stuff inside.  Price wise it was paid by insurance.  They just kept telling me that they are very expensive.  But insurance paid it so I did not feel the pain.  You get what you pay for in the construction world.  As for responsiveness and punctuality, this happened at 3PM on a Monday afternoon.  We were dried in, tarped, the tree trimmed, flushed with roof by 7.30PM.  The next day the tree was gone and Wednesday everything was moved out of the significantly damaged room and cleaned.  Then you had to start to work with the insurance in getting them before it can get going again.  They were too early.  They called me ten to seven every morning.  One down the days work and there would people idling on the curve at seven waiting to come in to work.  In the future I would get a quote from them; probably I would not be able to afford them on my own.

They've completed one phase and I'm considering contacting for additional work that's needed. They were the general contractors that provided services, mostly painting and also cleaning of the interior walls, drapes and upholstery. It was paid by the insurance company. The job went well. They are very nice people, very friendly and also professional. They are courteous. There are punctual and energetic. They even did some extras that weren't even a part of the agreement.

We had a very good experience working with parker young construction during a traumatic time. They were excellent people to work with and they took the time to walk me through and explain everything in detail. There is also a division of the company dedicated for clean up, packing, and storage. I would recommend them to everyone they were excellent.
