The installers were very careful handling and moving my furniture to do this install. This was a two-bed condo and space was tight. They were efficient, courteous and did a beautiful install. Would highly recommend. I had several estimates and this was the better with a higher grade of carpet.

This company was very responsive, and brilliant communicating with me what was going on. The only issue I think we had was with the carpet manufacturers (they told the company when our carpet would be ready, then it wasn't.) CSHL handled the situation very well, communicating with me, and even upgrading the padding because of how long the manufacturer was taking.
The gentlemen who came to install, we thorough and efficient and very on time.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

Communication great; very responsive to info and questions.  Punctual.  Price competitive.  They have an extensive selection of carpet material from which to choose.  The installers knew their job and went about it promptly.  Great install.  Left everything clean and neat.  We intend to use them for all future installs.

2015.  Just as an update.  We have now had these folks carpet four houses so far.  We'll use them again.

My overall rating is for the installation services; I would give the products an A for quality but the installation gets a much lower grade. I was very disappointed with the installers' workmanship and attention to detail. I've heard horror stories about big-box home centers using unqualified installers and would not have expected this from a full-service carpet company. I had just had the whole house painted - walls and woodwork both. They damaged walls in three areas (requiring 2 different colors of paint for touch-ups) and chipped or broke baseboards and stair trim in just about every room. I immediately contacted the company and after three days with no response, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. I had to spend $200 to get my painting contractor back out to fix the damage and disputed this amount of the total installation charges ($742.66). Extensive photographs and a statement of painting charges were sent to the credit card company, with my expectation that these would be shared with Carpet Surplus.

When I finally heard back from the general manager, he was quite apologetic and agreed not to contest the dispute. After waiting a couple of weeks with no credit posted, I found out that the credit card company apparently "resolved" the dispute without ever talking to the manager or anyone from Carpet Surplus. When I learned of this, I contacted the manager, who assured me he did not go behind my back and say something different to the credit card company. I also emailed him the photos I had sent to the credit card company, and he told me that he had never seen them. I was very pleased with his immediate response: he agreed to issue refund the $200 directly to my credit card to cover the cost of repainting damaged areas. This company gets high marks for responsive and professional service, especially when something goes wrong and a customer is not happy.

It feels wonderful and is very soft. The installers were great, they came in and did their work professionally. We are very happy. The people at the store were very knowledgeable, and helped us make up our mind.

The overall experience was pretty good. It would have been outstanding except that unbeknownst to me, the wrong padding was installed and I was invoiced an additional $470 three days after installation. The company had sent me several carpet samples from which I could choose. I finally did select one and then changed my order from the expensive padding to the cheaper option. Since we are selling the home, I wanted to keep the costs down. The rep did not write the changed padding request down on an invoice, but did initially charge me for the correct carpet and cheaper padding amounts. They were also nice enough to honor a mistake on their website that had the carpet selection priced $1 per square yard less than what they really sell it for. The installation went smoothly and the installers were great, fast and professional. The invoice mess took a couple of days to sort out with them not admitting fault at first. They also erroneously charged me $50 for disposal when there was no carpet in place to dispose of. After I spoke with the general manager, he acknowledged their mistake and credited me back the correct amount. However, at the end, I found out that the expensive padding was installed instead of the cheaper one I requested. The company decided to eat the cost since it was their mistake. That was very good of them.

The low price was what attracted me to use this company at the first place.

1 serious problem encountered was that the carpet was not what I purchased -- it was a remnant rolled up and wrapped in clear plastic in the warehouse, but when the installer unwrapped it at my house, there were 2 separate pieces and 2 different colors. The installers have to find me another roll that is big enough for my room. I have a tight schedule and must finish installation that day, so accepted another roll they had in the van lighter color than the one I originally picked. It's not that bad after all since the installers did an excellent job and it looks really nice when done.

The install crew was excellent : work was done very professionally, seams totally invisible, fast and clean up/vacuum nicely. For the laundry room, they unhooked the appliances, moved them out, and hooked them back up when done. They were so fast and I was very happy with the result.

They were very inexpensive. They had good sales people. They did everything they said they would do, they came in and did it. I feel the reason they are so inexpensive is because the carpet quality isn't as high as some others. The cost was about half the price of everyone else. I am happy with the service.

We looked at a lot of companies and we found carpet we liked. We were looking for carpet companies that were discounted and not quite expensive. They fit our bill and we like the carpet. The only complaint I had was that the old carpet had been done a long time and they did not clean up the old dirt.

I was very happy with their service. They came in and did the work. They were fast, efficient and clean. I was pleased with the price and the contractors. I had no complaints. I will go back there when I'm ready to carpet the rest of the home.
