Velagui Floors

Outstanding. We paid a lot of money to a foundation company to level the floors and they were not successful. We should have called Juan with Velagui from the start.

Juan Jimenez is the company owner and he does the work himself.  He clearly takes a lot of pride in his work.  He did a nearly perfect job on the floors.  He did the best work of all the contractor of any type that we have hired in the past. He was extremely accommodating.  He went above and beyond expectations in several regards.  We had a knot hole in our kitchen floor that we asked him to fill.  Instead he cut out a section and installed a new board.  It matched perfectly.  I wanted a water based finish rather than oil based polyurethane.  We had used this on our previous home and really liked it.  One of the issues with water based finish is the final color of the floor is not as yellow.  Juan spent probably a couple of hours with me late in the day doing test spots of various colors of stain with the water based finish.  I am very grateful because I really like the color of the floor. If he hadn't spent the time to provide representative samples of the different colors, I'm sure I would have ended up with a color that I would not have been as happy with.

I received several quotes for refinishing my floors, some high and some low. Ultimately I went with the provider that understood my needs and was available when needed. Juan was very nice and professional throughout the entire process. During the estimate we walked through all of the problem areas and discussed all of my options. He noticed a section of my floors that were no longer properly glued to the subfloor and therefore created a popping sound when walking across them. He provided me with the option of replacing that section of flooring or repairing it by creating small holes in the floor to insert glue underneath the floors. Because the holes would be barely visible and honestly because it was more economical I chose to go the route of repair. In addition there was also a water spot near the bathroom entrance that I wanted replaced. Because I picked the repair option for the other section of the floors there was a slight mis-communication on how I wanted the water spot to be addressed. In the end we decided to go the route of replacing both the water section and the area where the floors had become unglued. Even with changing course in the middle of the project Juan was still able to complete the project on time. He also replaced and stained all of the shoe molding (correct term?) to match my new floors. I had just had my bathroom re-tiled and unfortunately that contractor had left caulking all around my baseboards. I needed something to cover that up and I briefly mentioned this during the estimate but we never fully discussed in detail. Juan went above and beyond by also adding shoe molding in my bathroom.
I love my floors and I am now scared to put anything on them because they look so great. I would definitely recommend Velagui Floors to anyone and I will use them in the future as needed. Thank you so much Juan!!!

Juan was great to work with. He stuck to his price and finished on-time. The floors look better than I thought possible. I will most definitely be using him again in the future.

Velagui Floors were the best. He has come back several times for little nit-picky things that I wanted done and done them free of charge, things he could have originally been a little better. He didn't even charge me to fix anything. They are very professional and he was on time and has always been responsive to my needs. I will definitely continue using them.

The best experience. Juan and his crew are very professional. They took good care of my home. They were very careful, respectful of my wishes, and I've never been happier with a contractor/worker I've hired for ANY work done in my home. In fact, I feel as if Juan is a friend now. I want to recommend him to everyone I know. Not only was he friendly, punctual, professional, creative, etc, - his work is top quality. You'd have to see pictures to believe it. He made my $200K condo look like a million dollar home! I will share pictures if anyone is interested.
