CAN DO HOME IMPROVEMENTS

"It is unfortunate that Ms. [Member Name Removed]'s deck was not what she envisioned, but what she fails to say in her review is that several contractors, including Can Do Home Improvements, advised her that the deck needed to be replaced. She was told that there is no way to make the deck new by joining old and new elements on a 20 year old framework. Additionally, she neglects to say she personally identified which specific elements she wanted repaired and patently ignored the contractors' recommendations. Ms. [Member Name Removed] did follow through on her threat to file a suit, and she lost. The Court ruled that Can Do completed the work as contracted. Her issues were outside the scope of work and she did not discuss them with the company. We were contracted to stabilize an unsafe deck, which we did. It is important to note that upon meeting Ms. [Member Name Removed] she told us she was on a fixed income and raising 3 grandsons alone; that she could not afford to replace the deck. Because of this, Can Do only charged her for materials. We did not charge any labor, clean up or other associated costs. This caused us to incur a substantial loss on this project, but we believed we were helping someone in our community. We later learned she had mislead us and is, in fact, gainfully employed. Can Do Home Improvements is a Veteran-owned company with a 16 year track record of satisfied customers, many of which are repeat customers. References are always available. We have never encountered a problem that we couldn't resolve. We were totally blind sided by the poor review, and yet Ms. [Member Name Removed] indicated in the check box that she would hire us again. While we realize that Ms. [Member Name Removed] was emotional when she wrote the review, her statements are not reflective of previous customers and we don't know what precipitated it. We cannot say what transpired, or who she spoke with, in the months between the job and the review, but it is apparent that her intent is to defame the company's reputation by making unfounded accusations. In light of the malicious nature of the entry, we respectfully request that the web site administrator delete it from the database."
