Barnett & Cheeves Inc Building Materials

I was referred to this company by a builder. I called them and set up a time for the person in Sales to come measure my Entry doors, Basement Doors, and Closet doors. I desperately need entry doors, especially in the basement as with all the rain, water has penetrated through and under the doors. I have been trying for almost a year to get doors! The original installer lead me on for 7 months through e-mail and never got anything accomplished. I called Barnett and Cheeves because of the referral and he did come measure my doors. I told him I did not want 12 glass in any of the doors especially in the front of the house because of the sun. I also expressed my concern for good weather stripping to keep bugs out. He replied, "Bugs are still gonna get in." I don't know who says these things but it is mind boggling. So he measures the doors and tells me, "It will take about four days to get a quote for you." I told him, "Okay, but I have been waiting so long, please do this as quickly as possible." I never heard from him. They do not answer e-mail and I left a message at his office and finally he emailed me and said he sent the quote. i didn't have it so I emailed back again saying, "Please send it again as I didn't get it." I did get it and it was outrageously priced and he quoted me for the (12 GLASS DOORS, ALL FOUR DOORS!" I wrote back and said, "These prices are outrageous and that I can google these same doors and get them for around $200.00." He wrote back and said, "That's the best I can do." So, I wrote him again and said, "I'm not upset but I need to know if these doors have all the hardware, anything extra?" I thought maybe I'm missing something. Well, he never responded so I contacted the President of the company and he e-mailed me back saying, "We are not ignoring you but we do not have e-mail on our phones and go to the office to check our e-mails." That's fine so go check them!!! He said, "I'm going to speak with Chris and have him contact you." I never heard a word. So again, I wasted another day of my life waiting for a contractor to show up for measurements, and to have them totally disregard my questions is ridiculous. I had gone to Lowes previously and paid them to come measure. I drove to lowes to pick out doors and guess what? They lost the measurements and wanted to send another installer, make another appointment to do it all over again and so I gave up and went with this referral for Barnett and Cheeves. What a mistake! What has happened to customer service these days? Whatever job I had, I tried to do my best to make people happy and I just can't seem to find companies that really care to even return your phone call. I say this all the time, but so sick of hearing how these smaller companies are suffering because of the economy but I can't get them to work!!! This is just my opinion and my personal experience. i will be turning them in to the Better Business Bureau. If people don't report, these companies will never change their poor customer service protocols.....
