. The technicians who responded to the initial call came quickly to clean up the sewage, and were very polite, but did not do a thorough job of cleaning up. After the clean-up was complete, I later hired ServPro to complete the repairs, painting and replacing of carpet, etc. I did not like the flooring samples that they provided, so decided to purchase the carpet and vinyl on my own and have ServPro do the installation. At the time when I made that decision, I told the project manager, Ryan, that I would like Berber carpet installed. He told me that there would be an upcharge for Berber instead of the cost of installing regular carpet, and completed the quote with a notation that I was having Berber installed. When I went to choose the carpet, I decided not to get Berber, in order to save some money. The painter did a terrible job, leaving streaks and unpainted areas, and the paint job in the bathroom had to be completely redone. When I received the bill after the work was complete, I noticed that I had been charged as though I had gotten Berber (which I was told was an upcharge). I called the office to let them know that I did not get Berber, so should have received a final bill that was lower. The person in the office looked at the initial quote and stated that she did see that Berber was listed, and said that someone would get back to me with a revision. Later, I received a call stating that I was charged extra because it took the flooring installers extra time to do their work because they had to move boxes and other personal items. At the time of the installation, no one said anything to me about them being impeded in doing their work or that there would be an additional charge. I asked the person in the ServPro office why I wasn't informed before the work was completed that I would be charged extra, if there was an extra charge because the flooring installers were there longer. She stated "they charge us by the square foot, not by the hour", which means that their initial statement about extra cost was untrue. I stated firmly that I would pay the invoice when i received the reduction for not getting Berber. I finally received a new invoice, with only a $38 deduction, which seems very low, given the project manager's statement at the time I mentioned getting Berber. Unfortunately, the initial invoice did not state what the amount of the upcharge was for Berber. However, I feel that this company is not honest, is taking advantage of me, and because of their lack of professionalism, I would not hire them again, or recommend them to anyone.
