I called Mike around 8am and he was available to be on-site at 9:30am, but due to a meeting I had, I asked if he could come around 1pm.  He agreed, showed up on-time, installed a new Bradford White 50 gallon water heater.  He was able to use the existing expansion tank and copper piping.  The job was done within 2 1/2 hours and the area was left clean.  Mike did find a non emergency issue with one of the gate valves and recommended installing a ball (1/4 turn) valve.  He recommended replacing it, but was not pushy in doing so.  I got the valve replaced since he was there for an additional $45.

$275
I was extremely disappointed with Mike Martin from Just In Time Plumbing Services. I just had new granite counters installed in my kitchen. I told Mike that he would need to reconnect the kitchen faucet, reconnect the garbage disposal and reconnect the dishwasher. He quoted me a price of $275.
When he came to my house I told him that instead of reconnecting the old garbage disposal I purchased a new one to be installed. The first thing he said was that the unit I purchased was not very good. (It was the top-rated unit in Consumer Reports.) He tried to sell me one that he had for approximately $60 more. I told him no. Then when he unpacked the new unit he told me that he couldn't install it because the old unit was hard-wired but this unit needed an outlet and there was none. So I told him to just reinstall the old unit.
The old sink was white and the new sink is stainless steel. Mike told me that the collar from the old unit that goes onto the drain was white. He went to his truck to get a stainless steel one but he didn't have one. He told me that it would cost me an additional $100 to go get a stainless steel collar. It was probably an $8 part. I told him to forget the garbage disposal.
Mike told me that the dishwasher was never disconnected when the granite was installed. Therefore, instead of doing three different things, the dishwasher, the garbage disposal and the faucet he did just one thing, the faucet. The bill? The same $275 he would have charged for the three things.
I told him that I was very disappointed. I no longer have a usable garbage disposal and I will have to call another plumber to reinstall it at a later date. I said that in light of the disposal not being hooked up and the dishwasher not needing to be hooked up I thought the bill should be reduced to reflect the one job of the three that he did do. He refused to do that.
I again told him that I was quite disappointed and that I would note that in my review for Angie's List. At that point he told me that if I wrote a negative review he would have his lawyer sue me.
Response from Just In Time Plumbing Services
"I made an agreement with the wife to put facet on and hook the garbage disposal up. The husband purchased the garbage disposal and didn't know he needed a plug-in for his new garbage disposal.. I told him to call electrician to put plug-in. The price I gave him per conversation with wife was hook up facet and garbage disposal not to do electrical work. Client than said just put in old garbage disposal. When we discussed the opening for the sink the old collar was white and the new was stainless steel. I than told client that I could go pick up the part and install and he said was to much. I feel I did everything I was ask to do with what I had to work with. Once I got to the job the price I had quoted things needed had changed. My price stayed the same for what the job called for with first agreement."

Mike was very professional. He returned my call early on Sunday morning and was at my home working all day on Sunday(in the nasty rain) and on Monday. He explained the problem and explained to me all options available. He is an excellent plumber and a trustworthy business to call when you need work. Will use this company for all plumbing needs and reccomend Just in Time to family and friends.

Mike is the consummate professional.  He helped me with a faucet that I needed installed and fixed and gave me advice on a leaky pipe.  He is easy to reach by telephone or email and very punctual and reasonably priced.
