Just completed a 6 month journey in  what a store is  NOT supposed to do with a customer. Went to the local Lowes (millworks department) with wife to purchase new front door to include transom and exterior door to go over interior door. Wife picked out what she wanted, got the department rep to set up appointment for subcontractor to come by and measure everything so it could be ordered. Subcontractor came out to the house, measured the doorway and left. They took their measurements back to store for rep to order - Error #1 rep didn't order correct color and had to call back to the store to get it rescheduled (should have stopped here). This was discovered when contractor brought doors to house - Error #2 scratches on exterior door from contractor dragging it on driveway. Had to order new one. To make matters worse, subcontractor measured doorway wrong, noticed after tearing out the front door and attempting to put in new one. Wife spotted different wood coloring and stopped contractor. Contractor put back in old doorway but removed lentil (that metal piece over your doors and windows that holds bricks in place) making all bricks above door loose. New doorway had to be reordered with new measurements. Weeks go by, had to keep calling store. Finally new door(s) come in, same contractor cancelled scheduled appointments 3 times. Finally called Lowes and told them we didn't want that contractor back at our home. New contractor comes out, only to find out still don't have correct measurements. Wife is going crazy now. I call and speak with manager. Assured that he would stay on top of this project. Weeks go by again, I call back to the store, told door is in and don't understand why we have not been contacted. Contractors come out again, now exterior doors don't fit, there is about a 2-21/2" spacing above transom directly into house, and bricks above door are still loose. Told my wife they were going to take some piping to make door fit and would just have to paint it. Spouse not going for that. Put exterior door back in garage and leave. I get call from Lowes corporate to see how satisfied I am with new door. I tell them it is not in correctly, they call local Lowes. Now I get a visit from the door company and 2 managers from local Lowes. Door company rep CORRECTLY measures doorway, takes video of everything. Managers apologize for the cluster fubar, assured again that it would be taken care of. Weeks go by again (we are now about 41/2 months into this), get calls again from corporate, tell them it is still not finished, now brickmason comes out, fixes loose bricks, new lentil is installed, (this is all a NEW subcontractor - 3rd one now, but we liked these guys. They knew what they were doing), spacing is closed off, but alas, another problem with exterior door. Still don't have the proper railings to hold door in place. Week goes by, they come back, put railings in, exterior door installed, everything working fine except for wood coloring. I didn't want to wait another few weeks, so I just painted it myself. You do not have to ask if I will ever purchase another door from here.

.I am still waiting for them to come and fix a board, so I am less than pleased.
