They worked non-stop one day until after dark to make sure the house was dried back in. They put the shingles on the next day and cleaned up the area including using high-powered magnets to find all the nails, so my young children and pets wouldn't.

Fairchild Roofing did an outstanding job replacing my roof. They were there when they said they would, completed it in the amount of time indicated, took proper weather precautions, and did quality work. For a job that has the potential to be destructive and messy, when all was done, you could not even tell I just had a roof replaced other than the new beautiful roof. They cleaned up very well. I would certainly recommend them.

They were very professional. They did a good job. I was seeing them whole time and I was watching them. Everything went fine. I've had several recommendations from people and Angie's List also. I think their price was reasonable for the quality of work they did.

I called the company's office and spoke with a receptionist about a leak on my roof. She contacted Mr Fairchild, who then contacted me about the leak. He told me he wanted to let me know that he was aware of my problem and that he was currently in the process of calling people back to make/schedule appointments due to a large amount of rain and storms at that time of the year, and that he would get back with me within an hour to set up the actual appointment. I ended up calling the office back the next morning, as I never recieved a call back the afternoon/evening prior. This time the receptionist contacted not Mr. Fairchild, but his associate, Aaron (sp?). AAron called me around 11 a.m. and asked when would be a good time to meet at my house. I told him I get off work at 4, so between 4:30-5 p.m. would be good, with as close to 5 p.m. as possible being ideal. I get a call from my 11 year old son at a little past 4 and he tells me the roofing guy is at my house. As it turns out, my son (who was home alone after school) had walked down the drive to get the trash dumpster when Aaron pulled into the drive. Here is where the problem begins. In my and my wife's opinion when Aaron was told by our son that my wife nor I were at home he should have left. Or, when my son told him that I was five minutes away, he should have got back in his truck and waited for me. He did neither of these. He went in our house and looked at the area where the leak was located, then outside to the potential area of the leak to look around. He then left without saying anything to my son, without a phone call to neither me nor my wife, without leaving any documents/paperwork stating who he was and what company he was with and what he found/didn't find. The next day when my wife tried to talk on the phone with Aaron about this, he told her he didn't have time for this and hung up on her. I finally was able to get Aaron on the phone that afternoon in an effort to get his side of the story. The only thing I got was a load of excuses and some BS lines about how that was standard procedure for them to go into homes with only children there, and how my wife was raising h*** with him, so he told her he was too busy to be accused of something that he didn't consider wrong, so he hung up on her. I could barely get a word in with this guy and was losing my cool, so I told him that I was done listening to him and his excuses and I then hung up on him. I called the office and demanded the receptionist have Mr. Fairchild contact me. When I got Mr. Fairchild on the phone I felt that he was a bit more understanding than Aaron, but he too stated that going into (homes) with children alone is a normal and standard practice and that they had never had any issues as a result. After a period of time listening to Mr. Fairchild explain to me his perspective I attempted to explain mine: growing up when I/we did I understand it was a different world and this may have been an acceptable practice, but in today's society where there are registered child molesters and s** offenders in every neighborhood that level of acceptance is simply not an option. I truly do not feel he accepted my explanation. Here is my big problem, I guess: I DON'T GIVE A ROYAL F**K if that is considered "standard and normal"....going into my house with only my child is a massive error in judgement on your part and it will not happen again. Also, here's an idea: if you do go to a home to perform any type work, estimate, etc. how about leaving some paperwork behind showing that you were there and what you found!? Bottom line, while I was more than satisfied with the initial work (roof replacement), I was hugely disappointed in the warranty work on all levels. I would have to seriously think long and hard before hiring them again.

the work appeared to be good until the next heavy rain, when it was obvious the roof was still leaking in the same place. Fairchild was called numerous times, messages left that were never returned. it finally took the threat of legal action to get the problem resolved. the problem doesn't appear to be in the workers as much as the company ownership vis a vis resolving the issue. see below a copy of the letter that was sent certified return receipt requested:
Some time in June 2010 I called you, as the ceiling in my back bathroom was leaking when it rained. Someone from your company came by and checked the roof, informing me that the roof was fine but that the pipe boot needed to be replaced - indeed, that all 3 pipe boots should be replaced. I said, "fine, let's do it". A day or so later a technician from your company came and proceeded to "take care of the problem". In the process, he somehow managed to drop a pipe through the back hall ceiling. He told me "don't worry, we'll fix the ceiling", which was done a few days later. On 1 July 2010 I paid the bill - for 3 pipe boots - in the amount of $250.00.
Some time in August or September 2010 we got a hard rain, and again the ceiling in the back bathroom leaked. I called you again on 27 Sep and again on 12 Oct, having gotten NO response from my call of 27 Sep. Someone finally came, checked and told me that the pipe was broken, and that he would replace it at no cost to me. Once again, I assumed that the leaking problem was solved. But on 4 Feb 2011, once again we got a hard rain - and again the ceiling leaked. I called you numerous times - 5 Feb, 7 Feb, 8 Feb - as did my daughter. Finally on 17 Feb someone came, went up on the roof, did something, and before leaving told me that he thought the problem was solved, but not to repair the bathroom ceiling until I was sure. All was well until some time in April when we got a good hard rain - and AGAIN the roof leaked. I called you on 20 Apr, 21 Apr, 9 May and 17 May - again, no response.
It rained again this past Friday night, 17 June. AGAIN the ceiling in the back bathroom leaked. Being that calling you has produced zero results, I decided to write, to see if that will get your attention. If it does not, then I will have to consider other avenues. It has been over a year now and I would like to stop that leak and repair the ceiling in that back bathroom before more damage is done to the structure of the house, damage that will take far more time and money to fix. I expect to hear from you soon; if I do not, I will be contacting both the Better Business Bureau and an attorney. And may I remind you - at the bottom of you invoices it states "Materials and workmanship guaranteed".

Work was completed in less time than they stated, they did an excellent job of matching the roof shingles to the existing ones, and so far no more leaks, plus they gave us a five year warranty for the work. Also, the price they quoted was the price I paid.
