Professional all the way.  Provided a detailed quote and choice of options, did most of the work over email back and forth and he'd contact us for times he'd be working.  It was done promptly and efficiently and is a well designed set up.  
It was pricey, about $5k for a 11 foot gate with auto opener and such.  But the work was all pretty custom and I'm thinking you get what you pay for.  
Strongly recommended.

Chuck is a consummate professional. He and Justin worked over several days to install a lovely and unique custom gate. Chuck patiently worked through the design elements for this custom project. After installation when we needed a signal booster, it was promptly installed. It's a delight to come home to every day.

After reading the reviews on Angie's List, we decided the hire the Gate Guy for a driveway gate.  Chuck responded quickly.  He helped us in making the right selection, and then delivered in advance during a busy time of the year (around Christmas).  We are very pleased with the results.  It is exactly what we wanted, and the pricing came in less than expected (we were expecting to pay roughly $5,000).

Chuck met with me to review a few designs for driveway gates that would work with the modern architecture of our house.  He discussed all the details of the location, steel posts, stucco columns, lights, gate operator equipment, etc. and prepared a complete proposal with all of the information.  Chuck replaced the originally specified steel gate material with aluminum, taking it upon himself to retool his fabrication equipment with no change to his original proposal price.  The gate turned out to be stronger and as beautiful, but much lighter to operate and will last forever.  I appreciated Chuck and his team's attention to detail on all aspects of the gate construction, tying into the adjacent aluminum fencing and the final landscaping around the columns.  Their friendly interaction while working on-site has been a pleasure.

I called Chuck and within about a week he came out to check out the project needed and provide a quote. The quote was fair compared with others I received, and I felt best about working with Chuck versus the others based on my various interactions. He's busy so it took a couple of weeks for him to get started, but we were in no real rush. 
He first came out with 2 assistants to install the steel post (deep in to the ground and sunk in cement) and posts for privacy fence. He's not big on fencing, but this was a rather small section and necessary to finish off the project, so it was no big deal. After they got the posts in those had to set for a few days, after which we had some bad weather days so it was about a week and a half between the post installation and the gate & fence installation. When they came back with the gate they were able to hang that, then install all wood slats and privacy fencing built on site to match the lay of the land and my sloped driveway. After it was all set Chuck took the time to show me how it all works and discuss necessary future maintenance. 
Chuck & his 2 assistants were very professional and clearly take pride in their work. All in all it was a great experience working with them and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I cannot recommend "The Gate Guy" highly enough.  It is like every transaction should be. Professional work, professional follow-up, and a great attitude.  Very happy with his work and follow-up.

Our Gate had failed.  The gate was over 13 years old and the Gate guy tried to replace some parts, but the majority of it needed replaced.  He showed up on time and was extremely honest, knowledgeable and helpful.  I would highly recommend him.

Chuck was awesome. He was prompt, professional, thorough, exacting, and precise. His pricing was very fair and most reasonable. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Chuck and his assistant were prompt and courteous. They worked almost 2 days and did all the work they promised. They came back twice when we were having some adjustment problems with the sensor and openers. We never waited more than 24 hours for their return. I would recommend them highly and use them for our next project without hesitation.
